Butter Crescents

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2012
These rolls were pretty easy to make. I used my bread machine for this recipe. The dough was very smooth and very easy to handle. I followed other reviewers suggestions and reduced the flour by half a cup. I also replaced the butter with the butter that you can't believe it's not. I separated the dough into 3 portions and rolling each portion into a 12 inch circle. Use a pizza cutter(so easy!) to cut 12 triangles. This way the recipe yielded 36 rolls and they were the same size as the ready made versions. I froze 24 rolls on a tray and saved them for another time. So for next time, just place the rolls on a cookie tray and place in a warm oven till doubled in size. This is a definite keeper! I left some leftover(I know, right? Not possible!) rolls out overnight and they were still soft the next day. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe!

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2013
I do not like most cole slaws. However, this recipe is fantastic! I could eat it all day long! I would recommend that you reduce the sugar in half if you don't want it too sweet. I also took out one tablespoon of oil. It will seem as if you don't have enough dressing for all that cole slaw but while it sits, it pulls some fluid out of the cabbage and turns out creamy and perfect. Please try this recipe as it is a winner for me!

Sweetened Condensed Milk

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2012
Take the butter out and it's a fat free version. I also cut the sugar down to 1/2 cup and it's still sweet. Very good substitute and cheaper than the commercial stuff. You get about 2 cups per recipe.

Canned Apple Pie Filling

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
This is a fabulous apple pie filling recipe. It's pretty easy. I didn't make the entire recipe. I adjusted it to 16 servings which made a nice size 'filled' 9 inch apple pie. Everyone loved the filling. About as close to the store/bakery versions as you can get made right at home. Thanks for the recipe, I love it!

Pumpkin Whoopie Pies

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
These are very good! I agree that the cream cheese filling is a much better combination with the pumpkin. However they are just as good without the filling.

Marble Swirl Pound Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2012
Oh my goodness, these were so easy and so good! I used all purpose flour, reducing the amount by half a cup. I increased the cocoa to 1/3 cup because I like my chocolate cake. Instead of swirling, I layered the batters on top of one another. The more alternating layers you make, the more swirl effect you will get. Not one cupcake was the same. The cake was moist and delicious. Thanks for sharing!

Black Bean Brownies

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
I like it but do I love it? Ummm....well.... I will say that you really can't get a better brownie that's not made the traditional way. It has lots of fiber and protein in it. Use an alternate sweetner (like Agave) if you want to take out all the "white". Add 1 1/2 tsp baking powder to lighten it up and make it soft and cake-like. This will be saved in my recipe box for sure. I feel less guilty eating these. Thanks for the recipe!

Healthy Banana Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2012
Great recipe! I spruced mine up with 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and 1/4 cup ground flaxseeds. Yes they are not overly sweet but considering the average american eats too much sugar, be thankful these don't have any of the white stuff. :)

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2012
This is a great recipe, however I made some substitutions because I was planning on feeding it to my children. Instead of wine, I used water. I also added 5 fresh cloves of garlic, chopped. I reduced the amount of seasoning mix to taste. I also used plain, reduced fat cream cheese and reduced fat cream of mushroom soup. Very tasty and delicious!

Salmon Dip

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
I halved all the ingredients except for the salmon. I also omitted the butter completely. Replace the sour cream with olive oil based mayo and use lowfat cream cheese. Its a much healthier version. Still turned out great! Thanks for the recipe!!
