About this Cook
I have 3 children ages 13 and 10 year old twins.
My favorite things to cook
I just learned how to make Gnocchi from scratch, it's not hard but Im pretty proud of that. I love cooking dishes in the slow cooker, I will convert oven recipes to work in the cooker. I do everything from breakfast, supper, and desert in there. I also love marinades and cooking on the grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For the holidays especially Christmas Eve and New Years Eve we like to fix all of our favourite hors devours in place of a regular meal. You can make most things ahead of time so when family is there, you aren't spending so much time with prep.
My cooking triumphs
Bechemel sauce. My mom had taught me how to make it years ago and I have been lucky enough to have never screwed it up.
My cooking tragedies
Thankfully I havent really had one yet. I did make a biscotti recipe from this site and it came out rock hard. On the flip side it turned out the same for others who have made biscotti before.

Chunky Monkey Pancakes
These are SO good! I fell upon this recipe because my nickname for my son is "chunky monkey" so of course I had to make them! I have made them 3 times so far and will be making them again this morning. My son had liked them so much he requested these when it was his birthday. I keep the bananas in small chunks, and use semi sweet chocolate chips (not the mini) and just eye ball the amount that I want in my batter. I think that gives just the right amount of chocolate taste using the regular size chips. I also use half wheat flour and half white flour just to try to make it a little healthier. The great thing with this recipe, none of us use syrup! It is also wonderful to grab one and eat cold when you have a sweet tooth.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip
WOW! As my kids would say, "This is so good my brains are coming out of my head!" I used a can of beef broth, 1 can of beef consume and a half a bottle of beer. I did not have dark beer like another reviewer suggested, but used Icehouse and it came out just fine. I also lightly buttered the rolls and added a little sprinkle of chedder cheese and put them in the oven for a few minutes to melt before piling on the beef. I will absolutely be making this again!

Basil, Tomato and Mozzarella Sandwich
So fresh and yummy! I would make it on toasted bread or those sandwich rounds worked perfectly as well. I would drizzle the vinegar mixture on the bread to let it soak in. No dipping needed this way!
