Christmas Breakfast Sausage Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2003
This is a great idea. I will make again but will add other ingredients, onions, mushrooms, green and red peppers, etc. It needs more flavor thought it was a little bland.

Graham Crisps

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2003
I love these, they're wonderful. And very easy to make. I do not care for walnuts, so I've used pecans, silvered almonds and even coconut. They're all good. You really must try.

Turkey Wild Rice Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2003
I used this recipe and modified it to what I had on hand. I had most of the ingredients. Had to use brandy instead of the dry sherry. Added some baby portabella mushroom and a few more spices and herbs. I added alittle tabasco sauce to mine when I served it. Turned out great. Will make again. Thanks for the easy recipe.

Apple Pie I

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2003
I was very pleased with this recipe. We had to cut the pie almost as soon as it came out of the oven. There was a little juice in the bottom, but as the pie cooled it was absorbed. Would recommend adding a little flour as mentioned by others, especially if you want to eat it hot. Overall, a very good recipe. My husband and kids really enjoyed it. Will be making often. Thanks Carol!

Adobo Sirloin

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2003
I marinated our steaks in the whole can of chipotle chilies with adobo sauce. It was excellent!! The next day, I made more sauce and marinated some thick pork chops, then grilled them. They were good to. Will try next on chicken and ribs. This is a keeper. Husband and kids both loved. Thanks so much for this wonderful recipe. Will use it often.

Fat Free Refried Beans

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2003
This is very easy and tastes great. I did use pinto beans this time. That's what my kids are use to. Will try the black beans in the future. I also decreased the amount of liquid smoke used. That will vary with everyone's taste. Would recommend adding a little at a time, and taste as you go.

USMC SOS

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2003
I can remember eating this as a kid. Haven't had it forever. When I saw this recipe, I just had to make it. I did add a little milk to thin it, and we ate it over biscuits. My kids loved it. It's fast, cheap and very filling! Great comfort food. Thanks for the memories, and the recipe.

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

I thought this was very easy and really good. I've never really been able to make macaroni and cheese come out right. It's usually to thick. But this came out perfect! My husband and kids loved it too. Will be making this often. My kids love macaroni and cheese and now they don't have to get it from a box! Thanks so much for this recipe.

Salmon Cakes II

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2003
This is a great base recipe. I found them a little dry and not as flavorful as I had hoped. I used the can salmon( have never purchased this before),it seemed alittle strong flavored. I'll go back to using the salmon I get out of the seafood dept. at the store. With a little doctoring this could be an excellent recipe.

Chili I

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2003
This chili is wonderful! Even though it may look like alot of unusual ingredients, the flavors meld together so well. This is a keeper! The chili does taste better the next day. So from now on I'll make it a day in advance. The only change I'm going to make to this recipe is, I'll add more ground beef and omit the sirloin. My kids were not fond of the chunks of meat. But they're not meat lovers anyway. Bob, Thanks so much for this great recipe.

Kung Pao Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2003
This is an excellent recipe. Very flavorful! I doubled the whole recipe,(with the exception of the water chestnuts),but only tripled the sauce recipe. Next time, I will make more sauce. I also subtituted chili & garlic sauce, and added red peppers. I didn't have any green onions on hand, so I just used a regular yellow onion. I also used the "lightly salted" peanuts and reduced sodium soy sauce as recommended in an earlier review. Thanks for an excellent and easy recipe.

Reuben Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2003
I thought this was very good. My husband really liked it. He even packed it for is lunch the next day, and he doesn't usually even take a lunch! I used Thousand Island dressing and increased the amount to about 1 cup. It's very easy and it doesn't take long to cook. You can still have a good, hot meal on those extremely busy days. Next time I make this,I would like to try it with a mustard dressing as mentioned in one of the reviews. Thanks for the recipe!

Cinnamon Corn

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2003
After reading reviews, I also only used 1/2 the amount of sugar. My husband and I both thought it was pretty good. My three picky, young kids said it was okay, but would not eat it. I will make it again, but not often.

Almost Eggless Egg Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2003
I ACTUALLY THOUGHT THIS WAS REALLY GOOD. I ADDED A LITTLE MORE ONION,SPICY MUSTARD,AND PICKLE RELISH. USED THE PICKLE RELISH JUICE INSTEAD OF THE SUGAR AND VINEGAR. YOU CAN ADD WHATEVER YOU WOULD TO YOUR REGULAR EGG SALAD.JUST MAKE SURE YOU LET THE FLAVORS BLEND TOGETHER. I PROMISED TO BRING IT TO WORK TODAY. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THEIR REACTIONS. THEY'RE GOING TO BE SUPRISED!
