About this Cook
I have 3 children, 4 grandchildren. I have worked restaurants since I was 15 years old. I love cooking and working with people. I'm originally from Laurel, De., I now live in Atlanta, Ga. I've been here since 1980 and love it down here.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I just got a new bread maker for Christmas last year and I love it. Although I still prefer cooking the old fashioned way, this bread maker is great. I'm the type of cook that likes to experiment with different things. I got my kids to eat carrots by cutting them like french fries and frying them. I have just started making home made cinnamon rolls, but instead of using the powdered sugar glaze or icing, I mix butter, dark brown sugar and cinnamon and spread on rolls after baking. Or, mix sweetener(sugar or artificial), cream cheese and cinnamon. You can even use the cream cheese on the dough instead of the butter before adding the brown sugar and cinnamon.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite traditions is Turkey on Thanksgiving, with all the fixin's, pumpkin pie, mincemeat pie, and Mom would make an apple salad. Diced apples, raisins, walnuts and Miracle Whip salad dressing.
