Its a great cheesecake recipe, but not an authentic New York cheesecake. I prefer to use a shortbread crust with all my cheesecakes. Here is the recipe for this crust # 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour # 1/3 cup white sugar # 1 egg, beaten # 1/2 cup butter, softened Mix all ingredients together and press into a 9" springform pan, bake at 400 degree oven for 15 min, remove and let cool. I also fill a pan with 1-2" of water and place it in the oven when baking the cheesecake, this prevents cracks in the surface
