Basil Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2010
Love this! Great way to make good use of my huge basil plant! I put tablespoonfulls on a cookie sheet & freeze - then transfer to freezer bag for future use. We add to corn, pasta, Texas toast, etc. Thanks for such a great recipe!

Really yummy! I roll sliced jalapeno peppers in my chicken strips & wrap a slice of bacon around each piece, then secure to the skewer - Oh so good!

OMW...good! I used chicken broth b/c I didn't have wine - still fabulous. The sauce makes the entire dish - so make extra! I almost licked the plate!!

Mini Meatloaves

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
Made this a few times & I'm not a big meatloaf person, but this is a very good recipe. I always add diced onion, worches. sauce, & other spices to my mixture. Also double sauce b/c it is so yummy!

Chicken Breasts With Herb Basting Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2004
Really liked this! I didn't have marjoram - just omited it. Also did not have fresh parsley, used dried. I used bone-in breasts and uncovered for last 10-15 minutes so the skin would brown and crisp up a bit. The sauce was great and next time I make, I will also make garlic mashed potatoes as a side dish for the sauce!!!

Bill's Blue Cheese Dressing

WOW-WEEEE! If you are looking for a good blue cheese dressing... STOP because you just found it! And this is so easy to make!! I cut in half b/c I'm only one in family that likes blue cheese.... hope it stays that way - more for me!!!

Fun Cookie Suckers

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2004
Made these for my 2 yr olds Valentine Party at Pre-School and they were a HIT! I too used halved pretzel rods so the kids could eat the whole thing. They are little time-consuming, but when you become the "coolest" mom with the "coolest" cookies.... it's worth it!!

Cabbage Jambalaya

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2004
I'm trying to figure out how this got so many good reviews. We did not like this at all. I used a good Andouille (cajun smoked sausage) and x-tra lean gound beef and it was still way too greasy and was just bluck!! Tried adding more spices, etc, but to no avail. Sorry, but will not be making this one again.

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2003
This makes hamburgers really juicy, but mine kept falling apart on the grill. Next time I think I'll add more bread crumbs to help patties stay together.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Really liked this. Picky hubby also liked. I added fresh minced garlic and reduced the vinegar to 1/4 cup. Served with fettucini and salad. Quite nice.

Jalapeno Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2003
I used boneless/skinless chicken breasts. Used cumin seeds, b/c I didn't have ground cumin. Hubby liked this better than I did. I cooked spaghetti noodles in chicken broth and served the chicken over the noodles. That was good - Next time I make this, I will use less cinnamon.

Texas Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2003
These were pretty easy and good. My 9-yr old son really liked them. I would suggest that you slice the chicken breast really thin or even shred it. And the cooking time in the oven is way too long - I only left mine in for 5-7 minutes.

Easy Pea Salad

Reviewed: May 28, 2003
I make this recipe all the time with a few adjustments. I use iceberg lettuce as the first layer, then some shredded cheddar cheese, then the peas as the next layer, then the mircle whip/sugar on top of all that. Then as the finale... I top with grated parmesean. Put in refridgator to let tasts "marry". This is sooo very good!! And so very easy.

Better Than Sex Cake II

Reviewed: May 16, 2003
This was really easy to make, which is great, but the taste just wasn't as good as the title makes it out to be. I'm not real big on chocolate, so maybe I'll try it with a yellow cake next time.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: May 2, 2003
This was FINE! My hubby is not a big fan of blue cheese, but even he had seconds!! I sauted fresh garlic and canned mushroom slices in butter and added to top of chops and gravy. Very fine! Oh... I also didn't have cream, so I used evaporated milk and it worked. Thanks for such a great, easy and impressive recipe!

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2003
I cooked this on my electric smoker and it took quite a while longer - I let it smoke for 7 hours!! Even after all that time, it was still very moist and flavorful. I will try this again, except next time, I will use the grill! I also rubbed the dry spices into the skin and injected it with the melted butter and spice mixture and let it marinate overnight. We liked it!!

Barbecue Beef Cups

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2003
These were great, but I made some changes. I fried a couple slices of bacon and drained very well. Crumbled the bacon and put in a small mixing bowl. Added garlic salt and garlic powder (to taste), a couple tablespoons of Rotel tomatoes and some shredded cheddar cheese. Mixed all this together. Flattened the biscuits out and pressed some of the mixture into the biscuits then placed in the muffin tin and baked. REALLY good - Hubby loved 'em.
