Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

I did take the advice of other reviewers and added poultry seasoning. I used Pillsbury Honey Buttermilk Biscuits. I am not usually a fan of this type of food but I tried it because my husband is and the reviews were so good. I don't care for gravy or gravy-like consistencies, but this flavor was outstanding! It is most certainly a keeper and I will definitely do it again! (I also cheated and used canned chicken since it shreds so easily and that made this a very simple dish!) Great weekday meal! Even my two picky kids loved it. Yum! Yum! Yum!

Pineapple Casserole Dessert

This was fantastic! I used it as a side dish, but could have used it as dessert for sure! I used cinnamon butter for half of the butter called for. That really made it sweet and yummy! I would totally do it again. I would most certainly make it again, and I would use the cinnamon butter again too. :-) The whole family feasted on this dish!

Pasta Fazul

The flavor is very good, however I agree with an earlier reviewer... I added all the juice that was in with the tomatoes and there was no juice left by the time I was to add in the beans. Therefore, I added a whole can of tomato juice and some water. In the end, I thought it was missing something, so I added in some Italian spiced turkey sausage and that sent it over the top fantastic!!

Sally's Spinach Mashed Potatoes

For someone who is not a fan of mashed potatoes, I was licking the pan! I also found out how much I love cooked spinach which I was unaware of! My changes were these.... I used Greek yogurt as a healthy substitute to sour cream, margarine instead of butter, green onions, and cooked bacon. I also added some garlic salt and onion powder to taste and left out dill weed as a personal preference. I also used instant mashed potatoes since I was short on time. Basic flavors were not changed much and this was outstanding! Thanks for sharing this simple and fast recipe!

Chicken Puffs

I made this tonight for dinner. My picky 2 and 4 year olds enjoyed it, as did my husband. They are much more filling than they look, but I may have made mine bigger than I was supposed to. As others have recommended, I added a few extra spices, green onions, and I did brush the egg on top of half of them and sprinkle onion powder. We liked these much better than those I did not brush with egg, so I would highly recommend that change! I also made turkey gravy and it took a good meal to outstanding! The gravy really added the extra taste I thought was missing. Still, overall, I made very close to the original recipe and it was very good. The small changes just made it GREAT!

Slow Cooker Stuffing

I have been using this exact recipe for years (minus mushrooms for personal taste, and I do not use a cup of butter.... I use a few Tbls of margarine and some grapeseed oil mixed to be healthier). I love it! As others have said, the amount of broth needed depends on your bread. I always use fresh french bread that I cube the night before and leave out overnight to slightly dry. I probably use about 3-3.5 cups of broth. However, using store bought cubes which are much more dry may need more broth as this recipe calls for. It also depends on how moist you prefer your stuffing to be. This is as close to "in the bird stuffing" as I've ever found because it does remain moist and does not dry out. I have always received compliments on this homemade stuffing. Quite yummy!

Cucumber Soup

This was quite refreshing and yummy! I did use 2/3 Fage Greek Yogurt and 1/3 low fat sour cream. (It is a healthy substitute for sour cream.) I also added some garlic salt and Hot Salt (cayenne salt) instead of regular salt. This gave it a little extra kick. Did not use all the toppings, but still it was yummy. I also did not need to refrigerate for 4 hours. It may be even better, but I did not have the time.

Spider Cupcakes

I also could not find black shoestring licorice. I used the rainbow colored mini Twizzlers and cut each strip in half (long way) to make them thinner. The kids actually loved being able to choose their own colored legs. I used mini M&Ms for the eyes and added chocolate sprinkles on the back to look hairy. I also used the caramel apple candy corn for fangs since they are red and white at the bottom. I put the brown part straight into the cupcake to stick and all you saw was the red and white part, looking like bloody fangs. The kids LOVED these! We ended up making them for all the neighborhood kids for Halloween. Very cute!

Squash-Apple Bake

I made this last night. I asked my husband if it was a recipe he'd like to see me make again. His response was "YES, and again and again and again....!" My 2 picky daughters did happy dances in their seats upon tasting it! I did follow the suggestions of earlier reviewers, however, and substituted vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg for the mace. It was super sweet... in fact, I told my husband I thought it would make a fantastic pie filling for dessert! But then again, that's probably why my kids liked it so much! :-) It's a definite keeper! Thank you!
