Pilgrim Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2003
I didn't make the crust from scratch, used a store bought crust. This pie has a heavy ginger taste, so next time I will add a little nutmeg and a little more cinnamon (just a personal preference). I love the honey addition, but I have a serious sweet tooth, and next time I will add a little sugar in addition to the honey. Good recipe, thanks.

Anytime Fruit Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2003
I made this for my husband's birthday party and he did not care for it and I didn't get any positive comments. When our guests figured out it had cottage cheese they seemed a little turned off. Like cottage cheese, this has an odd texture. Doesn't seem like fruit salad to me, seems more like a pudding dish or something.

Pumpkin Maple Pie Supreme

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2003
This is absolutely the best pumpkin pie recipe I have found. Be sure and double the recipe because one pie just isn't enough. I will definitely be using this recipe over the holidays.

Peanut Butter Fudge II

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2003
I am not a big fan of peanut butter but I thought this was good because of the light peanut butter taste. My family hesitated in trying it because they thought that it was chocolate fudge because of the color. It is good and very easy to make, which makes it.......a keeper!

Candy Bar Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2003
This candy has a wonderful flavor and it is just so darn addictive! I didn't use peanuts, I used pecans. The cocoa, butter and sugar mixture was so dry I couldn't get it mixed so I added another tablespoon of milk and returned it to the microwave for another 30 or so seconds and then it mixed up well. I will definitely use this recipe to take to social events but never again to keep here at the house, I will gain 5 pounds with every batch, I just can't stop eating it! Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
This pie is delicious and the top crust is wonderful because of the syrup mixture that bakes on it. I agree with the other suggestions of having your lattice crust cut and ready to go. Be careful not to cook the sugar butter mixture too long or it gets too thick. I have had no problems in how this pie turns out, it is perfect every time, even when I let the syrup butter mixture get a little too thick the first time I made it.

Eclair Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
Rated this 4 stars because my husband loved it. Too much icing for me and when the cake is refrigerated, the icing becomes hard, the filling remains soft so it mushes out from under the icing.

Fried Chicken with Creamy Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
This chicken was very good. The only changes I made was to double the amount of gravy and I added 1/2 teaspoon of poultry seasoning and some pepper to the gravy. When in the mood for a good old southern dinner, this is it.

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2003
THese biscuits are wonderful. I didn't use the shortening I used real butter instead and I added 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tarter. They baked up big and fluffy! For a quick throw together biscuit this is the best baking powder biscuit recipe I have found so far.

Southwestern Egg Rolls

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2003
This recipe is great! I doubled the recipe and the next time I make it I will triple it. I spent a lot more than 20 minutes on prep time, but it is so worth it. My husband keeps asking for more!

Grandma's Fudge Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2003
I served this cake to my husband for his birthday and he and all our guests raved about it. It is very good and yes, it does remind you of a Hostess cake. I took another user's advice and used 8" cake pans and it turned out great and was a very attractive cake. Thanks for the recipe!

Cindy's Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2003
This is a very good pumpkin pie recipe. I let the ice cream melt to near room temperature and I had no problems with the top splitting or the filling seperating. I did add a 1/4 teas. more cinnamon and left the sugar at 3/4 cup instead of cutting it back to 1/2 as other's suggested. It was just great and I will definitely make this pie again. My husband loved it too.

Glazed Apple Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2007
OH SO YUMMO!!! I decreased milk to 1/8 cup, reduced temp. to 350 as suggested by others and baked convection for 7 minutes. I refrigerated dough before baking for 30 minutes in the hope that the dough wouldn't flatten too much during baking (they didn't). One of the trays of cookies didn't bake as well, so make sure your cookies are 100% browned on top, makes a big difference in flavor and they hold together well if cooked till browned.

Sour Cream Refrigerator Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2003
This is a great recipe and I double it when I know that we are going to have guests. I love not having to peel potatoes so often and my husband can't tell they are leftovers. I do add milk to mine, I like my potatoes a little lighter. Thanks for the recipe
