Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2012
I made this exactly as directed, with the following exceptions: I used frozen blueberries instead of fresh, Truvia instead of sugar, and I doubled the recipe and baked it in a 9 x 12 cake pan. It was absolutely fantastic! Moist, sweet.... perfect!

Apple Squares

These are so easy to make and SO GOOD! I used gala apples and they turned out awesome. I doubled the recipe, used a 9x13 glass pan, and baked them for 35 minutes. They were perfect.

Cowboy Casserole

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
I substituted cornbread for the biscuits. I poured the batter over the top of the mixture and then popped it into the oven at 350 for 45 minutes. So good. My husband LOVED it, and my daughter - who won't eat ANYTHING - loved it too! If she will eat it, it definitely rates 5 stars from me.

Slow Cooker Creamed Corn

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
This is delicious! So easy, and because you make it in a crockpot, it doesn't use up space on your stove top or in your oven. Perfect for Thanksgiving!

Chicken Tortilla Soup V

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2008
This soup is so good. I added a bit of chopped cilantro, some chopped avocado, and pretty much doubled the spices, and this soup tastes exactly like the tortilla soup from my favorite Mexican restaurant. My husband couldn't rave about it enough.

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
Maybe it was the fact that I didn't have any white vinegar, so I used white wine vinegar. That was the only substitution I made in the entire recipe, which was WAY too much work anyway. However, this meat dish was inedible to me and my husband. I take responsibility for the substitution of the vinegar, but I wouldn't have expected it to ruin the whole dish. Maybe it did. I'm not willing to try it again.

Touchdown Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2008
The flavor of this chili is outstanding! I doubled the tobasco, 'cuz we like it hot! And it was sooooo good! I didn't drain the green chilies; figured a little more flavor couldn't hurt anything, and it didn't! Thanks for a great recipe!

Buffalo Chicken Wings II

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
These wings did not get crispy in the oven. 350 degrees is just not hot enough to crisp up the skin, especially if it's dredged in flour and sitting in a puddle of melted butter. There simply was not enough sauce, per the recipe. It needed to be tripled, at least. The sauce was tasty, but a bit too vinegary. Could have used more hot sauce, I think. Not the best flavor. Overall, these wings were a huge disappointment.

Chicken Korma II

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2007
Very mild, very aromatic dish. It tasted really good, but I think it could have been a tad sweeter. Overall, though, the spices were just right and we enjoyed it very much.

Korean BBQ Beef (Pul-Kogi)

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2007
This was very very good! My husband and I both loved it. I followed the recipe, except I didn't have any rice wine, so I used rice wine vinegar, and I added a tablespoon of sesame chili oil for a little bit of heat. It was awesome and I will be making this again and again!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2006
I increased the oil to 1/2 cup and used about half the topping to make 9 large and delicious muffins. These are the best homemade muffins I've ever made. It is fabulous!

Savory Montreal Steak Rub

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2006
This was sooooo good. I doubled the brown sugar and used fresh oregano from my herb garden. I used it on ribeyes. The flavor was fantastic and didn't overpower the steak. This has become my favorite rub.

Tomato Curry Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2005
This dish is delicious! I couldn't believe how good it tasted, considering the simple ingredients. I baked it in a covered casserole dish, and left it uncovered after adding the parmesan. Served on a bed of fluffy rice, it was amazing. Thanks for this recipe! Will definitely be making again.

Mulligatawny Soup I

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2005
This is really excellent soup. I didn't have thyme, so I added a little basil and two bay leaves. I also used non-fat half and half instead of cream. My husband raved and said "give it 5 stars!" so I did! Will definitely make this again.

Naan

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2005
This is really good Naan! I think the secret is rolling it out as thin as you can. It's got a delicious flavor. I used a heavy flat griddle that sits on top of my stove burner. I let it get good and hot, brushed it with melted butter, and the Naan cooked up nicely. It developed the bubbles and everything! I will definitely make this again and again! Everyone in my family loved it. My 5 year old daughter wanted to eat it, and nothing else, for dinner.

Hamburger Vegetable Soup

Super easy and delicious! My husband RAVED about this soup and told me to put it on the "rotation" which is his highest rating! I didn't have mixed vegetables, so I added some frozen corn, frozen peas, and a can of butter beans. This is a wonderful recipe!
