Garlic Brussels Sprouts with Crispy Bacon

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2013
I cooked the Brussels sprouts in the bacon grease instead of butter and omitted the garlic. My guests devoured the dish and it made me very popular! I will prepare it again, thanks for the recipe.

Spinach Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2013
Delicious! I used cheddar cheese instead of mozzarella. It came out kind of mushy, but probably because I didn't cook it quite long enough. Very much enjoyed by my dinner guests.

Green Beans and Pears with Bacon

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2012
Very tasty! I acquired a bunch of free Bosc pears and had to figure out how to incorporate them into my dinner before they went bad. I cooked up some tofu to a bacon-like consistency and flavor and skipped boiling it with the green beans and pears. I'm sure it's even tastier as properly prepared.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2012
These were absolutely delicious! The kale itself actually imparts a savory, almost nutty flavor on the final product. I had to cook my chips a little longer (about 17 minutes) because I didn't do a very good job drying them. My roommates (even the one who thought they looked gross when I was making them) said they were excellent and that they'd like to make their own. Who needs $7 bags of kale chips from Whole Foods when you can so easily make it at home?

Peach Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
My suggestion would be to omit the oil if you are using fresh peaches and two halve the cinnamon. It still comes out moist and the peach flavor is stronger.

Alfredo-Stuffed Lasagna Noodles

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2012
I am a vegetarian and I made this for my boyfriend who asked for a very cheesy dinner. And indeed, cheesy it is. I found the recipe very tasty, but it was perhaps a tad too rich. Calling for 21 ounces of alfredo sauce is just too much.

Pasta with Tofu and Walnuts

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2012
WAY too much black pepper. It completely overpowered the other flavors in the dish. I would make it again with about 1/4 of the pepper.

Graham Cracker Crust I

Reviewed: May 9, 2012
Six tablespoons is way too much butter! I halved the amount of butter called for and added a little water to make up for the dryness and it still ended up tasting like cookie rather than crust. Tasty, but I definitely did not need the additional calories.

Broccoli Salad II

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2011
Delicious, although a tad sweet. I used olive oil mayonnaise, Morningstar vegetarian bacon, and added sunflower seeds.

Apricot Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2011
This dish was pretty good and certainly an improvement over the usual boring take on brown sugar glazed carrots. That being said, I'm not granting this a full 5 stars as I had a few texture issues in that the preserves and the rest of the glaze mixture separated despite being cooked for a while. To anyone looking for especially sweet glazed carrots, this isn't the dish for you, or you might want to add sugar or honey. It is mildly sweet and tangy.
