Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake

The glaze is essential. Without the glaze the cake tastes like a brownie. With the glaze it is a delicious chocolate cake. The cake is short -- half the size you expect -- and it has twice stuck to the pan and so came out broken. Not sure what to do about that, but the glaze patched it over.

Salmon with Dill

This is very good, made with butter, or, suggested, with mayo. My salmon was in a 1 lb piece, and it did take 25 minutes to cook.

Spaghetti Squash Casserole

I wanted to like this but it was so-so. Maybe I don't like spaghetti squash. This was the first time I've ever had it. The best part was the bread topping. Also, I added spinach, as suggested, but I am sure it wouldn't have been any better without it.

Pasta Pizzaz

I really loved this. I lightened it up by cutting back pasta to 12 oz, olive oil to 1/4 cup, and butter to 3 TB. I also used smoked paprika, which really made the dish. I can't imagine it would be better with more butter and oil.

Cream Cheese Corn Bake

I did not like this. I used store-brand frozen corn, and it was very tough. The flavor overall was mediocre. I substituted sauteed bell pepper for green chilis, and that part seemed to work well.

Barbeque Chicken

This was very good, but I am not sure it warrants the extreme praise it has received. I also omitted the water. I cooked 4 thighs in sauce. I didn't bother trying to thicken the sauce, just plated the thighs. They had a lot of flavor.

Easy Spinach Lasagna with White Sauce

This was really delicious. I really liked the crunch provided by the carrots and would not omit them. It was a huge hit at our party and really easy to make. I used Bertolli Alfreado, which tasted fresh.

Spicy Lamb Patties

We did not like these at all. They tasted gamey. Maybe that is how ground lamb is suppose to taste or maybe it was a problem with our ground lamb. I can't bear to serve the leftovers.

Dilled Sole with Almonds

Honestly, I thought this was boring. I couldn't taste the dill or the lemon peel I added to compensate for not having lemon pepper. It needed more than 1 TB of butter to cook the fish. It wasn't bad, due to the butter and nuts, but the recipe is not worth saving.

This was excellent, way better than most honey cakes, which tend to be dry. I cut sugar by 1/4 cup, and we really liked the level of sweetness.

Indian Fish Curry

This was very good! I made it almost exactly as written. I omitted the cayenne but used Rotel tomatoes for spiciness. I did not add the broth, which would have made it too liquidy. I kept the fish in the 13x9 in which I marinated it and just topped it with the cooked paste.
