Southern Living magazine's Brunswick Stew

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
This is a family favorite. I've been making this for a couple of years, and it always gets eaten. I use frozen limas and corn, and I add a bag of sliced up okra. Otherwise, it's perfection.

Crab Quiche I

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
I also added an extra egg and hot sauce. I didn't have green onions, so I sauted a yellow onion and added it to the mix. I used imitation crab meat. Everyone thought this was great.

Adrienne's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2007
This is just what a cucumber salad should be. The only thing I change around is the dill; I use fresh. I took this recently to a family BBQ, and it was a hit all around.

Banana Muffins II

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
These muffins have become an old stand by for a quick breakfast with guests item. I do add vanilla and cinnamon. I often will freeze my bananas to save them for this recipe. Then you don't have to mash the bananas.

Refried Beans Without the Refry

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2007
This is so easy. The recipe as is works very well. I have used both ways of half broth and all water, either works very well.

Peanut Noodles

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2007
My husband and I liked this recipe after it had been tweaked. I used many of the previous suggestions...Toasted seaseme seeds, sliced grilled chicken breast, snap peas, and sprouts. My own tweaks, I used reduced fat peanut butter and low sodium soy sauce, and I let the whole thing sit and chill overnight. Before serving I let it come to room temperature.

Hot and Sour Soup with Tofu

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
My husband and I really liked this soup. I used 3 Tbsp of cornstarch, 2 Tbsp of vinegar, and I added mushrooms and an egg. It's a meal in a bowl.

Cowboy Cookies III

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
I've been making these cookies for a while now. They are wonderfully and tasty. I cut the butter, white and brown sugar to 3/4 cup, and I don't add nuts. Enjoy!

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
My husband and I love this recipe. Quick and easy. I reduced the amount of flour by about 1/2 cup, and I put the dough in the oven while the oven is warming up. It's wonderful and fast. Update: I recently made this dough into quick rolls. Just brushed the tops with some oil. Great!

Horseradish Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2007
It was extremely easy to make, even ahead of time. I didn't use real sour cream, I used the Tofuti stuff. It was really nice.

Cincinnati-Style Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2006
I make this recipe often, especially for my veggie friends. I usually serve it with the beans (along with chopped red onions) as an optional topping. Doubles very well.

Vickie's Beer Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2006
My husband and I love this recipe. I changed it a little bit (doubled sugar and mixed in the melt margarine/butter). I prefer a Hefeweizen for this recipe; the better the beer the better the bread.
