The Best Thai Coconut Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
This is absolutely fantastic, delicious creamy and ooh so suculent. My husband was on cloud nine eating this. I added Tunisian Harisa and fresh Italian Basil as it was the only equivalents I had. I didnt need to fret as the outcome was "ooh la la formidable" a true delight for the senses. Thank you sooo much.

Beef Wellington

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2011
Well it came out looking exactly like the picture. But frankly it didnt come up to expectations. I was expecting something cordon blue- an exquisite belnd of choicest ingredients to make a sonata of the senses. Instead I got a very middling bit of roast. Something that I would have expected to find in a Fanny Cradock Recipe Book. Thank goodness things have moved on a bit from then. I 'll stick to slow roasting with rosemary garlic and honey glaze. Sorry really wanted this to be special- very much the opposite.

Vegan Crepes

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
Superb! But I must warn all of you about to make this- for your own sakes and the sake of you sanity make double the amount. I have two kids under the ages of 4 and then there is me and their father- well as fast as I could cook em, the crepes dissapeared as fast as they cooled. Then I had to deal with can we have more.! I actually removed the sugar and replaced it with date syrup- it worked a treat and no one knew. I also used wholeground wheat which gave it an added nutty flavour. We are not vegan and used norwegian butter- the taste was out of this world. Oh and a drizzle of chocolate syrup well that just made it fly into the realms of Michelin Stars Thank you and now to make a tripple batch...

French Pastry Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
This is a great recipe but do note that this isnt as sweet as I expected, I grew up in England where the pudding pastry is sweet- this to my taste, was great for quiche not the apple pie I wanted.(in hind sight, I added a bit too much vinegar- so thats probably why its tasted less sweet) In the end dissaster was averted by making the custard sauce sweeter than usual. That being said the texture, consistency and useability are outta this world. I ommited the egg , as we have allergies and and it didnt harm the pastry at all.In fact we ditched the shortening- for pure Norwegian butter. Thanks for a great recipe!

Baked Salmon II

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2011
This is a wonderful dish to make and vey much a kid friendly one at that. I ommited the parsely and added fresh Italian Basil at 2 heaped tsp. Also I put the marinade and the salmon steaks directly into a glass ovenware dish and covered with foil, making sure the aluminium didn't touch the fish. I baj=ked as directed but 5 mins before serving I uncovered and allowed th etops to crisp and brown ever so lightly- the result was fantastic. Thank you for a great simple dish!
