Homemade Dog Food

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2014
This is a good base. I make it with different meat for each batch. Once I will use lean ground beef, another time I will some kind of fish (easy to research whats good for your pup) and then another time Ill use turkey or chicken. I also add fruit like blueberrys and apples I also add egg, spinach other fresh veggies I just don't use frozen produce much). All it takes is a bit of research to see what you should and shouldn't add to this great start! I can say since Ive started using this recipe, my dog who was on a special diet, still had skin problems, and was developing other allergies has completely started healing. Her skin is getting better her health issues are going away, small bumps and other things are all healing. I also fed a top brand pet food..so goes to show....good, all the way around!

Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2013
This was the best pork I have ever had. I read a few reviews, and some of them were prety negative, one user said that all they could taste was the spices...in my opinion, they must have over seasoned. I cook a lot...and I dont normally even measure seasoning out, I just eye it...well, I did that, and I can tell you I used more then what was called for, and I thought it came out amazing!! The only thing that I would do differently next time is, on the last 15 minutes, where you add the bbq sauce, I would cook it about 5 minutes longer, and I would reapply bbq sauce every 5 minutes for the duration of the 20 minutes to build up a thicker bbq crust. Other then that....this recipe is PERFECT!!! So tender, so flavorful...just PERFECT!!

Salsa II

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2013
I have to say that this is the best salsa that I have ever had. I did change a few things because of my family's taste. Instead of so many jalapenos, I just used four, instead of 3 onions I used 1 yellow onion ad 5 green onions. Also, I have a HUGE crop of Pink Brandy-wine tomatoes so I used those, and this complimented their super rich tomato flavor. I have made 2 batches in 2 days. Took it for Saturday Dinner at my family's and everyone couldn't get enough THANK YOU!!!

Fruity Curry Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2013
This came out really good! I did everything as stated. I saw some comments that said the curry was to strong...all I can say is that thoes people must not have liked curry at all, because it was so faint, but it added exactly what was needed...in fact, next time, I think I might add a little more. I also did not peel my apples, and this came out good!!! Thank you for a great recipe!

Orange Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2013
My family and I LOVED this rice. I was making shishkabobs with pineapple and cherries and could not think of anything to have with it. I came across this recipe, and was a little leery, just because it sounded weird...but it was GREAT! I do not like minute rice, so I used long grain organic rice, and I put it in my rice cooker. I put the Orange Juice, Orange Zest (and a teaspoon lemon zest), and melted butter in the rice cooker, mixed it up real good, then put the rice in and let it do its thing. When the rice was almost done I noticed it needed a little more liquid so I added some Mandarin and Pineapple juice to it. Once it was done, I let the rice cool a bit, and then added the Mandarins to the mixture (more then what was called for, but my son LOVES them). Everyone had 2 helpings, and I couldnt believe it. Rice is not a big deal in my house, but this rice was!! Thank you!! It was SO SO GOOD!!

Watermelon Lemonade

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2013
I made this for the first time over the weekend, it came out AMAZING! I didn't think it was to sweet as some users did, but I do like lemon-aid a bit sweet instead of tart. I also used organic raw sugar, so I don't know if that had something to do with it. HOWEVER...Today, I made it again, I was running low on lemons, so I peeled the lemons, de-seeded them & put the entire lemon in with the watermelon AND I added 12 strawberries. This drink came out even more fantastic then the first time I made it. I also did NOT strain the pure mixture, I just blended it on HIGH for 3 minutes, I did not feel it needed to be strained. Thank you for an AMAZING recipe! This well be the new family favorite! (I had a really bad day the other day and felt as though I could use an "adult" beverage, so I added a little Pineapple Malibu Rum to it and it was a perfect compliment)

Easy Chicken Fajita Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2013
This was one of the best soups I have ever made. I went through and read the reviews, as I always do before I make a new dish, and although the dish is probably wonderful the way it is written, if there is something that keeps coming up repeaedly, I make that change....I read to add an extra 1/2 pack of fajita seasoning and a can of dieced fire roasted green chilis...It was AMAZING!! We didnt even add any hot sauce since we have a 2 y/o who was having dinner also. We used Tostitos Artisan recipe "Toasted Southwestern Spices" chips and monterey jack cheese, and had it more like a tortilla soup and every one ate so much, their tummys were buldging out! I also doubeled the amount of soup stated so there was more broth, as my family loves the broth! Thank you for a GREAT recipe!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2013
Ok, I made this tonight for my family. And I thought that it was ok, my husband also thought it was ok, and my son wouldn't eat it at all my mother on the other hand loved it, and said that she could eat it every day. I used honey Dijon mustard instead of just normal mustard, and I think that made the difference. The flavor was good, the reason that I thought it was just ok was because the sauce just dripped off onto the plate. I don't mind a thin sauce, but it did not stick at all. So as long as I scooped up the sauce with every bite it was good. The other thing is, the chicken was cooked perfectly, it wasn't to dry but not to juicy. I don't know if I will make it again, but it was not bad at all. I would give a 5 but the sauce just wouldn't stick.

Bacon Wrapped Pineapple

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
This recipe was so good, and I cannot wait to make it again. I made two small changes, I used pineapple rings and cut them into fours so the chunks were a little bigger, and I used applewood smoked bacon because it is a little sweeter then traditional bacon, and I think it completed the recipe well. Thank you for the great recipe! Will make this again, for sure!

Cheese and Bacon Potato Rounds

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
These were OK. My family ate them but I could tell they were not super impressed. I think the potato itself needed some seasoning. It was just bland...something was missing.

Bacon and Tomato Cups

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
These were wonderful, and I am not a huge fan of tomatoes, but my family is. With that being said, I felt like I couldn't get enough of these wonderful little cups. I did not have a mini muffin pan, so I did not cut the biscuits in half, instead I flattened them out a bit, and then put inside of a normal size muffin tin, and they came out just wonderful, and a bit more filling then just a bit size appetizer. Wonderful, and will be making again!

Maria's Mexican Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2013
I scaled this recipe up for 16, and it was wonderful. Made it just as written, a d everyone loved it, even a couple that are very critical of food. Next time I will open the Serrano chilies for a little more spice as stated, but it was wonderful. I cannot wait to make it again. Thanks for the best rice ever!

Creamy Slow Cooker Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2013
This recipe was wonderful. This was my first time making any kind of potato soup, and I couldn't have been happier. I did double the recipe, and like someone before me, I ended up using the entire box of chicken stalk, two cups was just not enough. The other thing I did was I added some well cooked bacon to the soup. I will be making this again, for sure. It was super easy. Also, because I started late, I did this stove top to cut down the cook time, and it was still amazing. Thank you for a wonderful recipe!

Beer Battered Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2013
Was not crispy at all, much like chicken rapped in a pancake. I was extremely disappointed. I don't know if I did something wrong but followed to a T except added some pepper. Very flavorless and soft.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2012
This recipe came out great, however I made changes, I used two boxes of chicken broth and one can of vegetable broth, I didnt use the bouillon cubes or the bay leaf we dont like bay leaf, I added two cups of water as well. I also added red pepper, chili powder, 7 cloves whole garlic, a lot more carrots and celery, an entire red onion, pollo seasoning a lot more black pepper and thats about it. I like more flavor in the soup so thats why I added those other ingredents, but its a GREAT recipe to start wit. I also did not use cooked chicken, I used 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts and cooked it in the soup. I brought it all to a boil, and then simmered for about 4.5 hours. Very good! Thank You!

Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2012
I thought that this recipe was WONDERFUL. I dont know why everyone is saying to not use so much water. I used the measurements, and I actually added some. I dont know if their not simmering it long enough or what, but I simmered mine longer then suggested because my husband was late from work, and because of that, I added a bit more water. My family is Italian, and this came close to my grandmothers sauce...except, when I was pouring the wine, a little extra spilled in, and it was a little more then my liking, but that was my fault. Take your time with this sauce, let it simmer a long time, and if you can put it in the fridge over night, reheat the next evening and serve. Sauce is always better the next day! Thanks for the recipe!

Baked Oatmeal II

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
I made this recipe exactly as written but I used a smaller pan because we just moved and I couldn't fine the right size. I thought the sweetness was perfect, my family loved it! Only problem I have is that it was extremely crumbly...I guess I was thinking it would have more of a "meatloaf" consisty...I will be trying a few tweeks next time....to get lore of texture I was looking for.....but this was AMAZING even my brother who doesn't like oatmeal liked it!

Chicken Asparagus Roll-Ups

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
This came out so good. I made no changes at all. Everyone loved it. The only thing I think I'd do different is double the recipe and add more asparagus. My husband would have liked another piece, and I'd of liked to have some left over for lunch. Also, I think I'd take the others advice and add some of the sauce to the inside. The chicken was tender and it was delicious!
