Split Pea and Ham Soup I

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2014
I love how rustic this was. Full of flavor! Added some cooked ham after the soup was finished simmering. Would not change a thing otherwise. There is something to be said for simplicity.

Fresh Rhubarb Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
Such simple ingredients, so easy to put together, but wow does it have great flavour! Tart and sweet. This ones a keeper and I will try adding strawberries or blueberries as well in the future.

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2011
I like a full crust. I also prefer some cinnamon. I add my sliced apples to the gently boiling sauce and cook until slightly tender then fill my bottom crust. Bake in the oven until nicely browned. I never have to worry about the apples being crunchy this way (perhaps try slicing them thinner if you have that problem) I've never had them turn out mushy either. Its a fantastic recipe even tho i alter it slightly.

Apple Pie by Grandma Ople

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
Wow am I ever glad my friend recommended this recipe! Makes for a wonderful rich flavour. I used less butter (all I had was salted and it worked fine) and sugar, also added cinnamon, mixed the syrup with the apples then baked with a full vented crust. Fantastic! Can not wait to make it again, will add some nutmeg next time as well as brush the top crust with egg white and sprinkle some sugar as some reviewers have mentioned. I do have to say, to those (rare) reviews that said the taste was bland, add some cinnamon, that is all that is missing to make this recipe perfect!

Quick and Easy Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2010
This is the first time I have ever made this recipe and it turned out perfectly, (cooking time in my oven was shorter). If you wind up with leftovers, re-heat them the next day and add a little butter, a sprinkle cinnamon and drizzle with maple syrup, delicious!

Tyler's Raspberry Thumbprints with White Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2003
These weren't bad but found they lacked in flavor - i would have preferred them a bit sweeter. I also had a hard time with timing them in the oven, first batch i baked for time suggested in the recipe but found the centers weren't baked. Not sure if i'll try again.

Breaded Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2003
I took some advice i'd read in other reviews and added a couple of tsp black pepper to dry mixture for kick as well as added a clove of fresh minced garlic to the buttermilk mixture. I also double dipped the fingers (if you do this i suggest doubling the dry mixture otherwise you will run out) Everyone whose tried them likes them, great recipe.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2002
I've never attempted to make ginger cookies in the past and found this recipe to be easy and delicious. I only added half a tblsp of water and rolling was fine, also baked for just over 7 mins. Have given these cookies to ppl who claim to hate ginger cookies and they love them. Still chewy after 4 days. Great recipe!
