Very Best Blueberry Cobbler!

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
Outstanding. Don't skip the step of letting the batter stand. It produces a light scone type crust that adds just the right level of sweetness. So does the dusting of cinnamon. I will freeze some blueberries just so I can have a touch of summer this winter!

Watergate Salad

Just like I remember from church potluck. I don't use much whipped topping and I could only find it in 8 oz size so that's all I used and it worked out perfectly. I also added about 1/2 cup of chopped pecans. Delicious!

Six Threes Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
Wonderful recipe. The flavor of the banana is dominant with the orange and lemon juice adding a nice tartness. I followed another reviewers advice and used six 2's and like her I had too much for my countertop freezer. Could six 1 1/2's work? I wonder.

Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
Excellent to way to cook ribs! They were so tender and flavorful. I followed another reviewers advice and marinated the ribs overnight in a pork rub, but I used a little too much and it overpowered the taste of the pork. But that's my fault with fooling around with such a good recipe!

Traditional Salisbury Steak

This is basic salisbury steak at it's best. The gravy is great over mashed potatoes!

Pork Chop Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2008
This is okay for a regular family dinner, but is way too bland for anything else. I followed the recipe exactly and the pork chops were cooked through, but not dry, and the potatoes were exactly right. I realize that this is supposed to be a healthful recipe, but it desperately needs salt!

Roasted Potatoes with Greens

Fantastic recipe, and so simple. I used baby Yukon Gold potatoes and they were so sweet and creamy. I do agree that you need more spinach. I doubled the amount.

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2008
I thought I had the best pork loin recipe, but I was wrong! This is great. Of course, the balsamic vinegar flavor is dominant, so if you don't like balsamic vinegar, you won't like the roast. I used a pork rub with rosemary and ginger. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. As good as it was straight out of the oven, it was even better the next day cold!

Chunky Marinara Sauce

Great recipe. I added 1/2 cup red wine, and my friends thought it was an old family recipe that had cooked all day!

The Best Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 16, 2008
Great recipe. I didn't have any sliced bread so I used 3/4 c purchased breadcrumbs and it turned out fine. Moist but not crumbly. Be sure to use a good quality steak sauce because the taste comes through!

Jenny's Cuban-Style Slow-Cooker Chicken Fricassee

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2008
I made this recipe for tonight's dinner and it was excellent. I used a large can of diced tomatoes instead of the fresh tomatoes, and, based on the other reviewers comments, I added 1 Tbs of jerk seasoning. I also used boneless, skinless chicken thighs. It was delicious. I will definitely make it again.
