About this Cook
I will try any food at least once
My favorite things to cook
Healthy low carb high fiber spicy, tasty
My favorite family cooking traditions
Love making a southern style breakfast on Sunday mornings with grits, bacon, biscuits, jam, cheese, and I must have my cup of black tea with cream. Breakfast is my favorite meal.
My cooking triumphs
Used to do Easter dinner and breakfast the next morning for over 30 guests with family and friends who came from all over to enjoy the weekend. Had a large home then and have since downsized to a small townhome and can't entertain too many at one time.
My cooking tragedies
As a newlywed,(many years ago)I did not know how to cook and thought the longer you cooked steak the more tender it would become. I also did not know you had to take giblets out of a turkey - so I made one for my first Thanksgiving and had to learn from my husband's mother how to cook. We laugh about it now.

Sweet and Sour Pickled Beets
Tasted really good. The cinnamon gave a real subtle boost in flavor. My daughter who has strong taste buds really enjoyed it. Will do it for guests.

World's Best Lasagna
I made today and the sauce is very delicious. I played around with the meat and used vegetarian meat mixed with turkey meat and it went over well. I also added cayenne pepper to give it a kick. It wasn't too long to prepare as some said.

Mom's Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese
I took this to a potluck dinner and got many compliments. I used Edam cheese instead of American, and instead of plain salt, I used Adobo seasoned salt. Also, I omitted the onion.
