Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2015
Yeah, this one's a good one. One slight change and a few additions. Instead of water and bouillon I used low sodium chicken broth. The additions were: a small bay leaf, a pinch of basil, a pinch of oregano, a pinch of parsley, a clove of minced garlic, and rivels. I also sautéd the onion, garlic, and celery in a dash of olive oil for a few minutes before adding the other ingredients. So good... Like potato soup? Look no further.

Sweet Italian Chicken Sausage and Tortellini Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2013
Really really good! I made a few small changes but I think it made it better. I used my favorite Sweet Italian pork sausage, omitted the wine, butter, and added half an onion which I sautéed with the garlic. Amazing! I will make this again.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: May 29, 2013
My daughter asked if we could make chocolate chip cookies but all I had were peanut butter chips. So I went looking for a chocolate cookie recipe that I had the ingredients for and found this one. After reading some of the comments I made these changes. 1 cup light brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar. Then the dough wasn't thick enough so I added 1/3 cup more flour, and that did the trick. I left out the nuts and like I mentioned I only had peanut butter chips. Then I chilled it in the refrigerator for about half an hour, and baked them for 8 - 10 min. Let me tell ya... these are sooo good. I gave it 5 stars even though I changed it up a little.

Quinoa with Chicken, Asparagus and Red Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2012
Awesome! Let me begin by saying that my husband and I are not vegetarian, vegan, or even all that healthy of eaters (though I'm working to change that). I have never used quinoa before. As an experiment, I bought some red quinoa and tried this recipe. I used coconut oil (no flavor), cut up chicken thighs, and per some suggestions, some garlic, green onion, pepper, basil, oregano, and a pinch of sea salt. HOLY COW! It was so good, I was amazed, and the nutty flavor of quinoa reminded me a bit of Chinese flavoring (think Cashew Chicken). I am now a quinoa convert, as is my husband AND my 3 year old! Thanks, Kris!!!

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2012
Wow - this bread is amazing!! I am just learning to bake bread and I am following alot of comments. I doubled the honey and yeast, kneaded the dough FOREVER, added a bit of flour til the dough wasn't sticky. 30 minutes out of the oven, and 1/2 a loaf is missing due to counter snackers! THANK YOU, KRISTIN!!

Taco Noodle Dinner

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2012
Surprisingly good and easy to make! I put shredded Mexican cheese on top and we each added sour cream, lettuce, and guacamole to our plates. Will make this again!
