I didn't use as much maple syrup in the cream cheese portion, only 2 Tbsp was the perfect amount

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2008
Wow - this is ridiculously good; we will make this again for sure! I changed the marinade only slightly by reducing the cayenne and black pepper to 1 tsp each and reducing the salt to 1 tsp. I changed the sauce by omitting the jalapeño, increasing the garlic to 3 cloves, adding a small chopped onion and only adding about 1/2 tsp of sea salt. I can't even imagine how salty this dish would be if you used all the salt called for (there must be a typo IMHO). Anyway, it's a really great/easy recipe that we will make again for sure.

Classic Thanksgiving Dressing With Parsley, Sage and Thyme

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
Really good dressing. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of adding about 2 Tbsp melted butter to the mixture at the very end. I stuffed all but about 1/2 cup into a 13 lb turkey and it worked really well. Unfortunately, because we brined the turkey, the dressing came out a little more salty than we would have liked, but it was still really good and I won't hesitate to make it again. I made this a second time to excellent results. This time, I didn't stuff it into the bird, but rather cooked in a casserole dish. The end result was still excellent, but a little dry. If baking on its own, I would try adding an additional 1/2 cup of broth. I made this a third time, adding another 1/2 cup of broth and baked with the lid on - only taking it off for the last 15 or 20 minutes - the end result was perfect!

Death By Garlic

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2008
Love this! We make a pasta similar to this pretty regularily when a quick dinner is needed (can be on the table in 10 minutes!). This recipe has considerably more garlic than we use and we loved it! I scaled the recipe to 2 servings; used spaghetti instead of penne and used about 1/2 cup of pasta water to help with the consistency. The end result was really delicious, quick food.

Mama's Italian Wedding Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 28, 2008
This is REALLY good soup!! This was my first attempt at Italian Wedding Soup and we loved it! I added 1 clove of garlic to the meatballs and just eyeballed the rest of the ingredients. Next time I would add more garlic (2 large cloves). I also added a lot more fresh spinach than called for, I used a 10oz package of roughly chopped baby spinach and thought it was the right amount; I also used about 1 cup of orzo. The recipe made 66 meatballs (I rolled out the meat mixture and cut with a knife) and found that the meatballs probably should have been smaller. All in all - a delicious soup that we will definitely make again.

Crunchy Turkey Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
This was so delicous! I used some leftover turkey breast and followed the recipe *almost* exactly. I reduced the celery to 1 large stalk and reduced the apple to 1 large MacIntosh (peeled). I also omitted the sour cream because I didn't have any and just used Olive Oil Hellmans. The end result was absolutely delicous - to the point that my husband who proclaims to hate turkey salad rated it 5 stars. The next time I make this, I will toast the walnuts for added flavour and I might add some dried cranberries which would be delicious as well. EDIT: I made this again using chicken and it was just as good!

Fruit Salsa with Cinnamon Tortilla Chips

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
Wow - this was just fantastic! I also baked the tortilla chips (I used flax seed for added fibre) and the end result was outstanding! The only change I made was to use pear in place of the kiwi because it's what I had on hand.

Cinnamon Sugar Tortilla Delight

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
A very delicious dessert in under 5 minutes - how can you go wrong? Instead of microwaving these, I rolled mine (being sure to tuck in the ends) and fried in a bit of butter. Apart from the rolls unfolding a little when I turned them (I had to use a toothpick in each to keep them together), they turned out perfectly. Crispy and sweet, super yummy and very fast...we will definitely make these again.

Aunt Millie's Broccoli Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
This was very, very good - although I did alter the recipe based on other reviews. I used cream of celery instead of mushroom, I used about 1 cup of white cheddar in place of the American cheese and I used crushed Ritz crackers mixed with melted butter for the topping. The end result was delicous and my 4 year old ate it - which is a very good sign. We will make this again for sure - thanks for a great recipe!

Caprese on a Stick

Awesome - really liked these. They were super easy to make and really fresh tasting. I also drizzled with a really nice balsamic vinegar along with the olive oil - and a touch of sea salt and fresh pepper. They were gone within minutes.

Comfort food at it's best. I like to add about 1 Tbsp of relish and that's the right amount for me.

Quick and Almost-Professional Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2011
Wow - this is really, really good icing1 I followed the recipe exactly with one minor exception - I used salted butter instead of unsalted. Using my Kitchenaid mixer, I whipped this up in no time. The end result was absolutely delicious and a double batch easily covered 24 cupcakes with some to spare.

Taste of Home's Creamy Coleslaw

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2005
I loved this coleslaw - one of the best I've tasted! Only one point to note...I followed the suggestion of another reviewer and made it the day before; by the time we were going to eat it, the dressing had become a little runny, so it had to be drained. I would suggest making this coleslaw several hours in advance to allow the flavours to meld, but perhaps not the day before.

Grilled Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2011
I followed the advice of another reviewer and soaked the corn in water for a couple of hours prior to cooking - the end result was absolutely delicious! I didn't butter or salt the corn prior to cooking - but I think I will next time!

Grilled Chicken Taco Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2012
We loved this! I did make some changes though. I cut my chicken in half lengtwise in order to have more surface for the rub. I made the rub (omitting the cayenne for my kids) and let them sit for about 10 hours in the fridge. I grilled the chicken, sliced it and served on a bed of romaine topped with black beans, salsa, sour cream, the chicken and a little bit of cheese. The end result was very good, healthy, satisfying fare that even my kids enjoyed (after topping theirs with ranch instead of sour cream!)

Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2006
Oh my...we loved this! And this is coming from someone who isn't a huge fan of red peppers. I cut the recipe in half and used the roasted red peppers from my grocery store. I also added a medium shallot which I finely diced. The only other changes I made were to reduce the amount of butter to 1 Tbsp, but IMHO you could probably omit the butter altogether. I also forgot to add the cheese but we just sprinkled it on our pasta at the end and it was fine. In the end, I whipped this up in about 20 minutes and it was just delicious...a keeper for sure!

Angel Pudding

Yumm! We love this dessert and have made it using several different types of pudding (chocolate/banana is good). We use fat free instant pudding and the end result is a very low fat and tasty dessert.
