About this Cook
I have been cooking since I was 10 years old. I also had the joys of living with all sorts of different ethnic backgrounds and states throughout the United States. I have learned things from traditional homemade dishes such as chicken Poppycosh to traditional Mexican dishes such as Chile Re-llanos and re-fried beans. Since I live such a busy life style I am making it my goal to upload as much of my recipes and information as I can, my flaw is I forget to take pictures for upload :/ People love to challenge me to make all sorts of dishes and about 90 percent of them say they were the best they ever had, even the ones that hate certain dishes enjoy mine.
My favorite things to cook
Everything, no matter what it is I love to cook it. variety is the key to success and pleasure. I know how to cook many different cultural foods, I love to learn how to cook. I learn fast and know what ingredients can make things better, after all it is the "science" behind the ingredients along with love that makes them the memorable.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family and I do not have a claimed cooking tradition. However, every Christmas eve or day we make shmores in the fire place.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumphs was to learn how to bake, that was my hardest thing to conqour. I now after a lot of dedication can make a variety of dishes from scratch with all fresh and healthy ingredients (depending on the meal of course). I make my own broths, grow veggies and some herbs, learned to utilize left over items to make other dishes. A lot of things I make a took straight from traditional so it is authentic or I took it and added my own twist; which makes it unique and everyone loves.
My cooking tragedies
When I was young in middle school I had to make a dozen cookies for class, as a punishment (I don't remember what I did, lol). My mother refused to help, so I did it on my own at age 12, not understanding cups, tsp, tbs, etc., I used a whole cup of salt versus what it called for which was 1 tsp or tbs of salt. Ending result I told my mother they were not rising etc., she tried one of the finished ones and lets say her expression said it all. Pure disgusted, lol, I could not blame her because after her explaining the abbreviations to me etc., I realized I added so much salt that it was all you could taste. LOL, so since time crunch I still took my salted cookies to class and no I do not remember the rest lol. Anyhow that is when I learned how important ingredient measurements were when it came to anything involving cooking.

Scotch Eggs
I found this dish different and good. The reason for four stars because the rest of my family did not like it. I followed directions to the T, so it was not my error.

Pork Schnitzel with Dipping Sauce
My family and I loved this dish, however I added my own twist. I made my own bread crumbs, by slowly toasting bread in the oven, turning it every 5 minutes. Then I crushed it up I added garlic and paprika to the bread crumbs instead of the flour, because the flour would fall off I found giving it less of the flavor because the flour would fall off in the egg. I also made my own sauce with sauteed mushrooms in olive oil, I used a mixture of sour cream,a little mayonnaise, dash of lemon and pepper seasoning and paprika.
