Fruit-Nut Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
Like others, once I saw all the ingredients I thought the jello would be too much - but it was a hit with nearly everyone at Christmas dinner. You must love celery though!

Christmas Morning Frittata

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
Served Xmas morning - Every single person loved this - and easy to make! Not at all dry or tasting like scrambled eggs, which has happened with other egg dishes that bake in the oven.

Bacon Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
This is wonderful, made as is. It may be a little sweet for some taste; but I serve it as a Holiday dish. I took this to a funeral dinner, and with about 50 dishes, THIS exact recipe was the second dish on the tables to be completely eaten.

Cool Cucumber Salsa

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
It was a 'cool' and refreshing salsa, but a little too tame, season-wise - for salsa. I prepared exactly as the recipe said. (I almost gave it 3 stars, but liked the ingredients; I may try it again and experiment with seasonings.)

French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
Fabulous recipe for those that LOVE French Toast, but not the time it takes to cook it for a family.

Do-Ahead Stuffing

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I made this recipe as written, with no changes or substitutions. It was great as a make-ahead dressing. Since my holiday meals are a pretty big production, I made this dressing 3 days in advance, which was wonderful. However, this is not the best dressing I've made. It's good, but I give it 5 stars because of the ability to make so far in advance - otherwise, it would be a 4.

Onion Roasted Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I made this recipe exactly as written with no changes or substitutions. This is by far one of the best 10 recipes I have obtained from AllRecipes.com since this website went up on the Internet! This dish is TRULY a dream for a cook! Minimal work, inexpensive to make, and absolutely delicious. My niece told me she didn't like sweet potatoes and even she loved them. I recommend changing the terminology of the recipe to "cubed" sweet potatoes. There is a difference between diced and cubed. Thankfully, I didn't dice the sweet potatoes; they would have been way-over-cooked. I cubed them (which, with the hardness of sweet potatotes, - that is certainly the most difficult part of the recipe). GREAT RECIPE! You can't screw this up!

Green Beans With Walnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I made this recipe exactly as written, with no changes or substitutions. This was excellent. I assumed the walnut oil would have brought out more of the walnut flavor, so the flavors were not at all vibrant; almost just a little bland, but still an excellent dish for bean lovers! Everyone in my dinner party loved it!

Blue Cheese and Dried Cranberry Tossed Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2010
I made this recipe exactly as written, with no changes or substitutions, except I reduced the amount of blue cheese by 50 percent, because it was over-powering. While all the ingredients sounded wonderful together, this salad could have been saved using a different dressing. Just using balsamic vinegar alone as the sole dressing on this salad ruined it - it did not go with the salad at all. Only two out of 7 people liked the salad, but I think they were being polite. With a different dressing, this salad could have been saved. Good ingredients; with an expensive salad, I would highly recommend a different dressing.

Make-Ahead Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
I doubled this recipe and got 13 dozen for our big party. They were perfectly seasoned and I did use Italian bread crmbs. The sauce I used was from "Cocktail Meatballs II." NOTE: I mistakenly reviewed the Cocktail Meatballs instead of this one. These are excellent. I froze them in baggies and then thawed them in the freezer until they went in a crockpot with the sauce from Cocktail Meatballs II.

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
This was excellent salsa that continues to keep well. Everyone loved it at our large anniversary celebration. The only change was to reduce the Italian salad dressing to one-half the recipe. The substitute was some gourmet olive oil that is seasoned with basil and tomato. That was a good choice.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
These wings are fabulous! The only thing I did different was, to prepare ahead I floured the chicken wings in baggies the night before and left them in the baggies overnight. NOTE: There was not enough sauce to cover the wings, and so the sauce receipe was essentially doubled in order to cover the wings for the warming drawer. But it worked well to make ahead in the morning for a large party in the early afternoon. Everyone loved the wings! It had just the right amount of "heat."

Cocktail Meatballs II

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
These meatballs were a huge hit. I made the meatballs the weekend before our party. I doubled the recipe and it made 13 dozen bite-sized meatballs. The sauce was awesome, and several people asked for the recipe for the sauce.

Salmon Cheese Ball

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
This has good flavor, but as listed, does not make a 'ball,' but instead I had to turn it into a cheese spread. It was not quite as flavorful as the other cheese ball I made for my party, but if you love salmon I would highly recommend this recipe.

This turned out excellent. Easy to make and everyone loved it at our anniversary celebration! No changes needed to the recipe; the directions are clear and as listed, it makes an excellent cheese ball. Thanks!

Mandarin Orange, Gorgonzola and Almond Delight

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2002
Excellent salad! Due to the oranges, I served it for a Holiday Dinner Party, but would be great during Summer too. Very easy to prepare. I did what others suggested and reduced the Gorgonzola cheese amount by 25%. It was fabulous!

No-Cook Never-Fail Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2002
This fudge did come together as it should, and it hardened like fudge, but it DID taste like processed cheese. Out of 6 diners, it was nearly inedible, noone liked it and all thought it tasted like cheese.
