Basil Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2012
Yum! I've never made pesto before and this recipe is a good reason to make it again! I used almonds b/c it's what I had on hand. I took 1/4 c. of the pesto (before adding salt, pepper, and cream) and mixed it with 2 oz. of butter and 2 oz. of cream cheese (from another reviewer's suggesiton). It made the most delicious spread!

Meat and Spinach Ravioli Filling

This was delicious! I sauteed some onions and used fresh garlic rather than garlic salt. Yum - this will be a favorite! We served with Spicy Vodka Sauce

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: May 30, 2012
Who would have known? These are AMAZING!! I would never, ever, think of eating Kale prior to making these. They are crispy, salty, and deliciously good for you :) BEWARE of adding too much seasoning...these can get overs-alted easily. I love salt, but I heeded other's reviews and only lightly sprinkled them, which was perfect. I also used olive oil spray for ease. I have a convection oven, and at 350 for about 8 minutes, they came out super crispy. These are a new favorite - even my veggie-hating 13 year old son loved them :0)

Sesame Pasta Chicken Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2011
I really thought this salad was a nice change from regular pasta salads. The recipe has potential for being 5 stars. Next time I make it I will: 1)decrease sugar to 2 T. 2)increase soy sauce to 1/2 c 3)use fresh ginger vs. ground 4)use less sesame seeds and 5) use 1/3 c oil. My family wasn't crazy about it, but I thought it was delicious!

Hash Brown Casserole II

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
I used fresh potatoes instead of frozen and they worked great, but it needed a full hour+ to cook. This recipe was delicious! My only complaint is that the potatoes were SWIMMING in grease - so much so that the crunchy topping was soggy (I used Panko breadcrumbs). The 1/2 c. of butter the recipe calls for in the potato mixture is completely unnecessary. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly and we ate it all up!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
It was an easy meal, and good - but not as tasty as I had hoped. I've marinated chicken in wing sauce then grilled it before, and I think that is tastier.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2010
The name of the recipe says it all, "Delicious"! I doubled the batch and we ate it ALL! The only changes I made were the following: used chicken broth/stock in place of the water to boil the vegetables in and I added 1/2 c. cheese to the flour/milk mixture before adding it to the soup. YUM!

Rich and Simple French Onion Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2010
Delicious! I followed the recipe "almost" as stated. I cooked the onions over med heat for about 1/2 hour until they were brown and caramelized. I also added 2 tsp. of worcestershire sauce and an extra beef bullion cube to deepen the flavor. YUM!

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Delicious! I didn't add the green onions, but they didn't need them. I used 8 med. russet potatoes and kept the recipe the same for the other ingredients - perfect!

Habanero Pepper Jelly

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2010
This was my first time making jelly AND canning and it was a great experience both ways. The jelly was phenomenal and the process took about 2 hours from start to finish. I had a mix of peppers: habaneros, jalapenos and thai chilis. I followed the recipe as written, with the exception of adding 6 drops of red food coloring to the jelly before putting it in the jars. YUM!

Sophie's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2010
Fantastic recipe! The bread was moist and tasty. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it could have used just a touch more cinnamon to my taste. I used 1/2 c. applesauce and 1/2 c. oil and you would never know - it was absolutely delicious!

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2010
This was a delicious recipe and I made it as the directions stated with one exception. I sprinkled the sugar/cinnamon mixture on 1/2 way through the baking time b/c I was afraid it would burn. I'm glad I did b/c it came out very dark after only a short time in the oven. Overall, delicious flavors and I like the cake-like topping!

Fudge Puddles

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
These are really good and very easy to make! I used a piping bag with a large star tip to fill the cookie cups with the fudge. They turned out really pretty. My only complaint is that the cookies don't seem to have enough peanut butter flavor to them. I wound up making a third batch using Betty Crocker Peanut Butter Cookie Mix with this fudge recipe - MMMMMM!!

Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2009
These were very good and super easy! I used butter instead of margarine. When I dropped the dough into my broth I didn't think I had enough b/c it only made 6 dumplings. However, they cooked up to be 3x their original size and one per person was plenty!

Fanstic and extremely close to the taste of the original. Super fast & easy to make. Per other reviewer's suggestions, I added a 2 cloves of crushed garlic to the butter,1 1/3 cups of milk and a dash of oregano, and a dash of nutmeg to the sauce. Fantastic - it's a keeper in my recipe box!
