About this Cook
Have been married 34 yrs this Sept. My husband and I have a beautiful daughter, son-in-law and a very precious grandaughter as well.
My favorite things to cook
I love trying out different receipes, which I seem to always tweak in some way or other. My favorite thing to cook/make are desserts. I love to see my family/friends enjoying them.
My favorite family cooking traditions
For Christmas we spin the globe and someone stops it with their finger. Whatever Country/State it lands on, the following Christmas we fix recipes from their region for our Christmas dinner. We have tried tons of different recipes, from France, Germany, India, Pollan, just to name a few. Last year was Brazil. Oh, when we have landed on a body of water, it's sea food that yr. There has been alot of good recipes and some that were not so good as well. It is alot of fun though.
My cooking triumphs
I can't think of any triumphs right now, besides getting better at cake decorating.
My cooking tragedies
Tragedies? Well, that would be the yr. when I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner at my dad's. The pan the turkey was in was a foil roasting pan. It started to leak all over the oven. LOL. House started to fill up with smoke. We're rushing around to find another pan to fit the turkey in. Dad found an old wash pan in the garage, so we cleaned it up real good to use. Had to open windows and doors to get the smoke out, not to mention the mess in the oven that needed cleaned up. It was funny. The dinner was still very good. Of course I went out and bought a nice big roasting pan after that happened.

Foolproof Rib Roast
I have used this method of cooking my Prime Ribs many times and everytime it comes out perfect. I do use a different rub from the one here, but the most important thing is how the meat is perfectly cooked everytime by using this method.

Best Burger Ever
Read reviews before I made this recipe. Since a lot of them said it's more of a meatloaf texture, I decided to just make meatloaf instead of hamburgers. I added fresh diced onion as well, (just a small one). It was great. Husband loved it. He wanted to save some for lunch the next day, but had to go back and finish it all off then. Asked him if he thinks he would like it as a hamburger and he said yes. So, maybe next time I'll make a hamburger to see how we like it that way. I will for sure use this as my go to meatloaf recipe for now on.
