About this Cook
Wish I had a long, intriguing story, but actually just and average Mom,wife and grandmother. I work part time as a nurse for Hospice. Love to try new foods and enjoy cooking as long as there are folks around to eat it all up!! Usually not a problem when my whole family gets together :)!
My favorite things to cook
Can't really say I have a favorite. My mood changes with the seasons!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christams Eve is Pime Rib and I must say we have pretty much mastered it! Christmas morning is mimosas with homemade waffles! Can't get much merrier than that!!

Sarah's Rice Pilaf
I would consider this a perfect side to a complex main dish. Nich subtle flavors and very easily personalized. I followed the recipe exactly and my husband and son were very pleased. Served with a chuck roast that I had given a spicy flare and sauteed veggies. Yum!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
Sometimes simple is better as is the case here. I agree that a few simple tweaks might be beneficial such as adding a little more cheese and browning the top during the last portion of baking time but over all this is a great dish!!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Pork
I must preface by saying me crazy...but I don't think it's fair to rate a recipe if you make all kind of changes. That said...this was a good solid base recipe. Made it just as stated except for adding salt and pepper, which is usually just a given. Very delicate flavor and the cooking aroma was fantastic. Will keep and add my own touches next time to hopefully get a 5 star result!!!
