Sesame Green Beans

Reviewed: May 31, 2011
I have made this recipe so many times and LOVE it! I've even made it for company and they've always enjoyed it. Sometimes when I add the broth it evaporates immediately and the beans start to burn so I have to add more broth. I made it once with vegetable broth instead and it was still pretty good although I prefer chicken broth.

Chicken with Wild Mushroom and Balsamic Cream Sauce Recipe : Rachael Ray : Food Network

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
This was so good! The flavor was wonderful. I may even add just a little extra balsamic vinegar next time because I liked it so much. I didn't have the shiitake mushrooms and only used baby bellas and white button mushrooms. I also didn't have fresh herbs so had to use dry herbs. I'm sure fresh herbs would only make this dish better. But it was already really good. I used whole wheat orzo too. We will definitely be making this again.

Harvest Rice Dish

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2010
This was excellent! The only thing I did different was cut the onions smaller because I don't like big onion chunks. But everything else was the same and it was great. Everything flowed together really well and just had a great flavor. This is a great fall dish that I will definitely be making again.

Glazed Apple Cream Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2010
I gave this 4 stars because it was really good but I made a few changes. I added 3 extra apples, more cinnamon and added apple pie spice, added apple pie spice to the glaze and doubled the glaze. The first time I would love to try this with other fruit, like blackberries or raspberries.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2010
I made this last night for St. Patty's day. I hate jalapenos so I made it mainly for my hubby and some of his guy friends. I microwaved it w/o the cheese for 3 minutes and then I mixed the cheese and some bread crumbs and sprinkled it over the top. Then I broiled it so the top was golded. DESLISH! I liked it and don't even like jalapenos. I used a full 4 oz can of jalapenos. Everyone who had some loved it. Great recipe!

Chocolate Chex® Caramel Crunch

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2008
OK I have to say that I have not personally made this, but my mom has. It's amazing and completely addicting. She makes it for me all the time and takes it to group functions. She's said that it's not too difficult either. I'd make it myself, but come one, some things are just better with mom's special touch :) She's made it by drizzling white chocolate, milk chocolate, a combo. For halloween she didn't drizzle chocolate but she put in colored m&ms. It's really easy to change things up a little to make it look a little more festive. But no matter how she makes it, it's always amazing!

Pumpkin Puree

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
I followed rookiechef's tips. Instead of cutting the pumpkin in half, I cut it into smaller chunks (I think 6 chunks) and put it in a pan with a little water and covered it with foil. I ended up baking it for 1 1/2 hrs til it was soft. I scooped out the pumpkin while it was still warm. It seperated from the skin really easily. I'm going to use the puree tonight to make the Maine pumpkin bread. I hope it's good!

Ginger Glazed Mahi Mahi

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
I did not (or would not) make any changes to this recipe and it was wonderful. My husband raved about this meal for days. This is in my list to do again. I used ginger from a jar. Great flavor!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
My husband and I don't even really like applesauce so I have no idea what made me even make this to begin with. But we both LOVED it and it was really easy to do too. I followed all of the recipe except I used just under the 1/4 cup of sugar and it was just fine. In fact in the future I may use even less sugar. As a lot of people have mentioned, it all depends on which apples you use. I was sick this week and all I wanted to eat was this applesauce. Yum! I am so excited to know how to make my own applesauce. It is very easy and so much better than store bought.

Best Black Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2008
These beans were great! I did not add onion only because I didn't have an onion. But it could have only made it better. I'll try it next time. I waited until the beans had simmered to add the cilantro and I also added the juice from half a lime. This is so easy and so good. I would definitely recommend this recipe.

Wonderful Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2008
This cake is so easy and quick. I was really looking for a recipe that was light and fluffy. Most of the banana cake recipes I had looked at seemed too heavy for what I wanted. I used the Banana Cake VI recipe though for icing: 1 stick of butter, 1 block of cream cheese, and 3 1/2 cups of powdered sugar, but I also added a bit of banana flavoring. It was amazing. Everyone that tried it loved it. I even had people who don't like bananas say they loved the cake. Definitely going to keep this recipe on hand!

Mini Cheesecakes I

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
I really like using this recipe as a base. I make my own graham cracker crust. The filing stays the same. But you can put whatever you want on top, cherry pie filling, strawberry jam, melted chocolate or caramel. I usually put strawberry jam, melted a little so I can drizzle it across the cheesecakes. One tip I heard was right before the cheesecakes are done cooking, turn off the oven and let them sit in there until the oven has cooled. I don't know how much it helped. But everyone loves these when I make them.

SO good and really easy. The only thing I didn't do was add onions. I'll make it early on in the week just to have leftovers. My husband loves this dish.

Creamy Cajun Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2008
This is super easy and really good. I used the full amount of spices and it was good - spicy but good. My husband likes things spicier than me. Next time I might cut back a little on the spice and the flour.
