Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2011
I used whole wheat flour and modified the recipe to make 24 muffins. I used 5 frozen bananas. These were SO good!

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2011
So delicious! My 3 and 5 year old grubbed these up. And my husband and I loved them. For ease, I just sprayed them with canola oil cooking spray on both sides, sprinkled with kosher salt and baked in with our french onion soup. A delicious side.

Ham and Cheese Bowties

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2011
What a great, basic mac and cheese recipe. Very easy. We omitted the ham, used cheddar instead of colby, and added diced cauliflower and peas. I also sauteed some panko in butter to give it a crunchy topping. Very easy and very good.

Pizza Dough I

I give this recipe 5 stars for ease and quickness! I give it 3 for taste. It could be jazzed up, I suppose. Works great for quick lunches, which was exactly what I was looking for.

Too buttery? Is there any such thing??? I usually omit the nuts, and it's just as good. Mmmmmm!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2011
These were alright. Much crunchier than I like. I prefer soft, buttery sugar cookies. But my 5 year old had SO much fun cutting out the shapes and decorating.

Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
This was good. Not spectacular, but a good, basic apple pie. Next time I'll use more butter in the crumb topping.

Caramel Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
Ehhh. Just alright. I should have read the reviews first and doubled the sauce. It was just baked apples on pork chops. I did sear then bake the chops. I used 5 thin chops, and I should have used 3 apples and doubled the sauce. It was a nice take on a classic combo, but I'll keep looking for the perfect apple and pork recipe.

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: May 14, 2010
So easy! An expensive cut of meat, but if it's always this good, I'll be sure to make it again! The only change: I took it out of the oven at 120 degrees on an instant read thermometer and let it rest for 10 or 15 minutes. The residual heat cooked it to a perfect medium rare to medium. Leaving it in until 130 degrees would make it much too well done for my tastes. I also dropped the temp after 15 minutes to prevent the garlic from charring. Delicious! I will definitely make this again.

Harvest Pork Stew

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
Very nice taste. I used green beans instead of squash since that's what I had. It would have been better with the sweetness of squash. I was concerned that there was not enough liquid, and it was definitely more veggies and meat than broth. The broth was thin, but squash might have thickened it. I also just used poultry seasoning instead of the individual spices. My 4 year old LOVED it. I will make again. Great way to use leftover pork.

Michelle's Peanut Butter Marbled Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2009
Very good. I increased the peanut butter and decreased the butter and these were delicious. I like cakey brownies, not fudgey ones, and that's what these were.

3 ingredients? Can you beat that! These are great. I wouldn't take 'em to a bake fair, but for just us, they are perfect.

Fresh Southern Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2005
great and so easy! I used canned peaches, since that was what I had, and added strawberries and raspberries. The raspberries melt away, but they lend a wonderful flavor. Everything else I did exactly as specified and it was wonderful. Will definitely make again with fresh peaches.

Not great. Healthy tasting, though. Served over brown rice and it was a filling meal. Chops on the stove top get tough.

Beer Butt Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2005
I loved this. The meat stayed incredibly moist. I used a fryer chicken, and only grilled it for about 1 hour, much less time than the recipe calls for. My husband thought the meat had a funny taste, but he still ate it.

Kangaroo Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2005
Very easy. Some flavor, not a ton. My husband LOVED it. And I, of course, used more garlic than was called for! Also added butter to keep everything nice and moist. A nice, easy summer dish.
