Authentic French Meringues

I've done the others have suggested: Eggs at room temp, clean bowl with vinegar wipe, added 1/2 tsp cream of tartar and 1 tsp flavoring, but if you do this, up the sugar 1/2 c. Warning, be careful how much mint flavoring, I added too much once and they made our eyes water... they were good, just STRONG ;p

Baked Ziti I

I use Prego sauce (like it better than others and a lot better than Ragu and get usually get it at Costco), I mix sour cream with ricotta and and beatten egg... usually add just a tad more Italian Seasoning... DELICIOUS!

Get a Husband Brunswick Stew

I have made this for YEARS... wanted to check some of the things needed to make it and discovered I have never reviewed it.... SOOOO have to review it. I am from Atlanta and let me assure you, this is EXACTLY what you find at the corner bbq stand (in Georgia, BBQ is a little different than in other areas, such as California), bbq comes dry and if you want to add sauce you do that later. ANYWAY, this is the best Brunswick stew!! I use the chicken from Costco (I have also used that chicken in the frozen section that already has bbq sauce on it – turns out good too, just use less BBQ sauce) and leftover shredded pork - THE SHREDDED MEATS make it… so it really needs the shredded texture. I also like some whole corn in addition to the creamed. EVERYTHING ELSE IS PERFECT… don’t add more veggies if you want southern style.

Easy Lemon Bars

EXCELLENT! I did as others suggested, doubled the filling, but I ALSO doubled the cake mix part. I used 2 lemon cake mixes with pudding in the mix (Betty Crocker), ADDED 1 small box of instant lemon pudding, 2 eggs & 1 C. oil and 1 Tbl Lemon Extract (1/2 mixture into 9 x 13, 1/2 mixture for top). Then for the FILLING, I used 3 pkgs, 2/3 C. sugar, 1/4 C. lemon juice, yellow coloring AND 3 EGGS (so it would firm while cooking). Baked about 30 mins until topping browned and middle firmed... EXCELLENT.

Cranberry Cream Pie II

I made this pie last night... but funny thing is, I was following a different recipe (from TASTE OF HOME cookbook - fluffy cranberry pie), but this is the one I made! Anyway, just thought I would say IT IS DELICIOUS. I used 1/2 pkg of lemon jello in the cranberry sauce to stiffen instead of corn starch... and used OJ instead of water like another reviewer mentioned. Oh, and I didn't add the whipping cream to the cream cheese mixture, but I will next time... think mine was a little too much just like cream cheese... would be a little fluffier with the cool whip or whipping cream. WORTH THE EFFORT! Husband said "thumbs up!!"

Cheesecake Supreme

EXCELLENT! Did follow the top 2 reviewers suggestion of: Vanilla in cheeseckae mixture, less sugar in crust, 200 for 3 hours + 10 mins, didn't open door - just left it in there until cool. At least a day in fridge (covered with clingwrap). Only suggestion that I should have done was CARDBOARD on bottom of spring-pan. Will do that next time. THANK YOU YOU! EXCELLENT! Better than Cheesecake Factory by far.... so CREAMY.

Lil' Devils

Maybe mine came our PERFECT because I DOUBLED it; used 3/4 butter and used 1 C. PB. I have also used BROWNIE MIX - which is my husband's favorite since it's a little more gooier. I have also tried this with Vanilla mix & lemon pie filling (3/4 can). I have also tried this with Vanilla mix and raspberry pie filling (3/4 can) UMMMM YUMMY ! TAKE OUT BEFORE YOU THINK IT'S COOKED ALL THE WAY... that's why it's dry.

EXCELLENT - I did what others suggested: 1C Butter short, 1C butter; 2 tsp Powder; 2C. brown sugar, 3/4 white sugar; extra vanilla. I baked ONLY 8 mins - otherwise will harden too much.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake I

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! I have made it many times now - just like it says (with room temp butter, eggs & cream cheese whipped - then add flour). I made with two loaf pans, 325° for 1 hour and 20 mins. THANK YOU for this perfect pound cake!!!

Tuna Noodle Casserole III

I use Alfredo sauce (2 jars), 1/2 block VELVETA cheese and add PEAS & CORN - along with spoonfull of sour cream.... sometimes sub Rot. Chicken from Costco instead of Tuna.... family loves it.

Tasty Tuna Pasta

I must make BIG meals because I use at least 2 jars of sauce, 1/2 brick VELVETA cheese, frozen peas & corn and a whole box of pasta (usually penne). No other seasonings... maybe a spoonfull of sour cream. I also use the baked chicken at Costco sometimes - just tear it into small pieces. Family loves it!

Spinach and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

I know, I know, we all hate it when we change the recipe & then rate it high... We LOVED it and I changed it by: using bow tie pasta, Sun Dried Toms (from Costoc) in OIL - lots of them!, rotisserie chicken, lots of red pepper flakes (cooked with garlic and sun dried toms in lots of olive oil). After the pasta COOLED, I added small diced Monterey Jack cheese cubes and lots of OLIVES and a little more olive oil to make a light sauce. We loved it... husband took it to work (fire station) and they loved it there too!

Cake Mix Cinnamon Rolls

After reading reviews, I thought,"now, this is one thing with yeast that I can't mess up" - I was wrong. I let it bubble & get creamy (so it was not old), I added as indicated - the dough doubled in size the first time, then I think maybe I made the mistake of trying to let it rise a second time - it did, but then when I rolled it out, added the sugar, etc. then formed the rolls, it didn't rise again - that was it.... I baked anyways hoping that after ALL THAT TIME AND EFFORT AND EXPENSE that they would rise while baking... nope. Hard as bricks. Ugh... maybe the secret is ONLY LET THEM RISE ONCE, THEN ROLL INTO BUNS... because trying to let it rise twice sure didn't work. I thought maybe they would be more fluffy and airy if I let them rise twice. Live & learn.

EXCELLENT! You can also use PEPPER JACK CHEESE (pound chicken thin, layer spinach and pepper jack, roll chicken). The spicy cheese gives it a kick.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Excellent. I used Ground TURKEY (make sure you chop it up really fine) and FRESH grated GINGER. LOTS of Chinese Sweet CHILI sauce (the one that looks like jello with peper flakes). Just like PF Changs - EXCELLENT! THANK YOU!

Lemon Cheese Cake

I can't believe that there is actually a cake called LEMON CHEESE CAKE! My grandmother has a recipe like this (not cake mix) but my sister and I always wondered why it was called what it was called. WE LOVE THIS CAKE - love it love it love it. (I like it when the filling is a little grainy - not completely smooth - sorta like a crust). You don't want to leave the ZEST out, it's so good... adds even more zip! It's really good with the zest and worth it. (matter of fact we like it with bigger zest, not the tiny)

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Used broth instead of water, Cream of Chicken Soup - used green peas on one side and corn on the other (for my picky eaters that won't touch peas) - Everyone LOVED it... leftovers were great too!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Dessert

Just a note there is another listed "Cream Cheese Squares" that is the same w/o the nuts - whichever way you make it - DELICIOUS. (if you want to add a flavor, try raspberry pie filling on top of cheese layer, then the other layer of dough & cinn & sugar; or Lemon Curd/pie filling - heaven!!)
