Roasted Vegetable Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2007
My family prefers meat lasagna but we were going on a trip with some vegetarians so I made two batches of lasagna, one with meat and this one. This got rave reviews, even from my husband who is no fan of vegetables, and especially eggplant. He even said he would eat it again! I followed the recipe exactly except that I had to use much more olive oil and garlic than 3 Tbsp to coat all the vegies.

Honey Nut Sticky Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2008
I had some frozen rolls that were accidentally left out on the counter and they thawed. I needed a recipe to use up the dough because I couldn't re-freeze it. I found this one and all I can say is it was AWESOME. My family can't stop talking about how yummy these were. The only difference I made was to not use salt in the topping and I didn't put pecans inside the rolls. Also, my brown sugar was hard as a rock so I put it in the pan with about 1/8 cup of water first to dissolve it. Then I went on with the recipe as written. The water may have helped the bread stay moist but I don't know for sure. Next time I make these I'll use my own white bread recipe and maybe put some sliced Granny Smith apples in the topping. Thanks!

Christmas Cinnamon Pears

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2006
This is SO easy and my family begs me to make this recipe. My 10 year old son volunteered me to make it for his class without telling me until the last minute. The cool thing was that since it is so simple, I could easily supervise him as he pulled it together himself!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2010
This is awesome and so easy! I followed other reviewers and added the browning sauce (2 tsp) and about 2 tsp of garlic. I did not have 7-8 hours but I also only cooked 2lbs of meat so I put it on high and let it cook for 4 hours. Then I pulled it out, cut it and put it back in with 2 tsp of lite salt. I let it cook another 45-55 minutes while I toasted the rolls and melted the provolone. My family loved this recipe! Thanks so much!

The Twenty Dollar Burger

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2010
This is a good burger. I doubled the recipe and followed it exactly until it was time to mix the seasoned yogurt in with the meat. I realized that if I mixed the entire amount I would have a soup that would not hold together on the grill. So I mixed what seemed to make sense and had about half the yogurt mixture left when I was done. Next time I might try the suggestion of mixing in some oatmeal to help them hold together. Anyway, everyone liked them at the party, even though my husband thought some may not. Even the well done burgers were juicy and full of flavor. I will use this recipe again.

White Chocolate Amaretto Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2010
This is an awesome cake! Made it exactly to the recipe. One thing I think I will do different next time is to try to time it so the glaze is only just ready when the cake comes out of the oven. I made it too soon and it thickened a bit so it did not go into the holes as deep.

Lemon-Blueberry Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
This is a nice recipe. I did make some alterations: crushed the Nilla Wafers and added a bit of butter to make a crust before putting the filling on top. Also, I put all the Whip cream in the filling instead of putting some on top. I think next time I'll use another box of the lemon pudding because it wasn't lemony enough for my taste. I garnished with more wafers and blueberries. Tasty though!

Clone of a Cinnabon

Yummy! I used my bread recipe (no bread machine) and the brown sugar/cinnamon mixture with the icing. I made some with crushed pecans and some without. The family loved it.

The World's Greatest Crab Recipe

Reviewed: May 31, 2010
These are awesome! I had frozen pre cooked crab legs from the grocery store and I followed the recipe exactly. I admit that I didn't think the olive oil/butter mixture was going to penetrate to the crab meat very well but it did. When I basted the legs the oil caused some flames that created this great smoky flavor that combined very nicely with the butter and garlic flavor. The flavor was so great that we practically didn't even need the butter. My family could not get enough! Thanks for a keeper!

Buche de Noel

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2009
I've tried Yule Logs in the past and the cake usually breaks, making it really hard to end up with a pretty final product, even if it tastes good. This one worked really well. I did use a chocolate ganache from this site for the filling and then filling that is in this recipe as a frosting. I put a vanilla cognac in the ganache for a special touch. I will use this recipe again next year.

Flank Steak Pinwheels

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2008
I really like this recipe. My husband calls it "Fru-Fru" so I'm giving it 4 stars intstead of 5. However the second time I tried it I got a large flank steak and cut it vertically into two slabs. I then tenderized both and made one of the slabs into pinwheels as per the recipe. For the second one I took the marinade, soaked some sliced fresh mushrooms in it for a few hours, and then chopped them up a bit in my mini-food processor. I then used that as the filling for the second half of the flank steak and rolled it into a pinwheel. My husband LOVED it that way. I grilled both on the gas grill with a grilling pan so the cheese and mushroom pieces wouldn't fall into my gas grill. Both versions were really yummy!

Baked Pork Chops I

Flavor is excellent. The chops I got came out tough and I don't think it was the recipe's fault. Next time I will cook them slower and longer.
