I have been an Allrecipes member since 2002 and I honestly don't know how I cooked alone for so long until the day I found "The Recipe Exchange".  It is so wonderful to be able to reach out to fellow foodies at almost any given time with anything from "how to boil water" all the way to "how much saffron would you suggest I use?". When the opportunity arrived to become a supporting member, I did not hesitate to send my fee and I beleive I still owe the site for saving me time and money with all that I have learned culinarily for free to date.
I have many friends in my life but none who are into food like the people I meet here at The Recipe Exchange. They are TNT! (Tried And True) in so many ways wether it be food related or not.
I just want to express my appreciation here.
Thank you all and I look forward to making more friends here in the future.

Today was my first time blogging too. I have been referring to allrecipes for years. It has got me through birthdays, holidays, anniversaries and boredom. It’s like a best friend!

I was using Allrecies for about a year before I discoverd the Recipe Exchange!.. I agree it's much for fun to share with other "Foodies" who enjoy our excitment for cooking/baking!.. Glad you are here Buffy!...

Good morning Buffy! I am a professional in my own mind; I probably should have answered intermediate. I lived with two chefs growing up. I was raised by my father and my mom’s brother. My father was a very southern cook, Paula Dean type. My uncle traveled the world cooking. He taught me how to decorate food, make roses out of cherry tomatoes, and birds out of apples, along with high end restaurant dinners. I had children very young so college was never in the cards for me.(maybe another time in my live, but I am having too much fun doing what I do) My life is my kids and cooking for them. My daughter and I will be doing some catering this summer for my sons wedding. I’m sure my daughter and I will do something once she is out of college. She is going to nursing school but she has a love in the kitchen as well. When she was younger we always said we was going to own a restaurant called “Kristy’s Café on the Corner”

I love the exchange, too-I have gottten so much help & it really lets you see how much we are all basically alike, & how the differences don't really matter all that much.

After 15 years I finally got an old family cookie recipe right this last year, the recipe went to the grave.
My cooking tragedies
Once while making a cheesecake using a blender (before the days of processors) I lost my grip on a wooden spoon while the blender was running and it made a perfect circle of batter bordering my entire kitchen. Ouch! I can't beleive I shared that.
