About this Cook
I love Jesus. I love my husband, his family, and my family- it worked out well! I love outdoor adventures and working out with my husband. We are believing for kids someday....soon! I've done a lot of overseas travel and living abroad so I appreciate lots of different foods. I have to watch out for my tendencies toward sweets- we love each other :) but I know that sugar is an empty nutrient that must be mastered. I have been dabbling in more real, whole foods and raw food eating- thank the Lord my husband eats practically anything...yet with my cooking he's actually becoming more of a food connoisseur instead of a dispose-all. Even so, I love some of the classics that I grew up with of which I hope to share soon!

My cooking triumphs
Moroccan pot roast that I got off of allrecipes! Everyone raved and my black friends said 'you put your foot in this!'-- a real compliment! I try new recipes constantly since getting married 2 1/2 yrs ago and it seems everything I have made for the most part is very well received...to my joy and amazement :)
My cooking tragedies
Some of the Daniel soups I've thrown together lately are definitely not that good, but with cheese and some spices it can be palatable. I dried out my first attempt to slow cook a pot roast because I didn't add more water later since I was at work all day.

Lentil Chili
This is now a regular in my house. I do have hot chili powder and half mild chili powder- lots of flavor! This time I added 3 stalks celery and I sautéed the onions and garlic in real butter. It's best to cook the lentils first as noted before doing this recipe. Fabulous! Love this and so does everyone else!

Broccoli, Leek, and Potato Soup
FULL OF FLAVOR! The 1 tbsp of pepper was just enough spicey- loved it! Instead of bacon I put in a tbsp of bacon grease that I always keep on hand and also added one large sweet potato too. I only had turkey broth so used that. Also just had about 1 1/2 cups of 1/2 n 1/2 instead of milk. Turned out FANTASTIC! Everyone loved it. Thanks!

Banana Sour Cream Bread
I made this with only maybe 1/2 cup brown sugar and whole wheat bread flour, 2 extra bananas and it turned out fabulous! moist and not dense and more naturally sweetened. Lovely recipe!
