About this Cook
You'll notice I don't have anything filled out for "hometown." This is because I grew up all over the world--the daughter of an Army Officer. I've had the opportunity to try lots of new, exotic and delicious (and sometimes not so delicious...) foods. My all-time favorite place to live was Vicenza, Italy. The food (and almost everything else) there was incredible! I'm just going to say it: I love food. I love cooking, and I love eating. I love experimenting with spices and flavors and garnishes and creating masterpieces with fresh ingredients. I resolve to eat for my health, but also never to sacrifice my palette to bland crash diets and deprivation. I love food. So there.
My favorite things to cook
I love making my own sauces. I'm crazy about accent flavors and spices. I also make the best pumpkin cheesecake you will ever eat. ;)
My favorite family cooking traditions

My cooking triumphs
My boyfriend and I call my cooking style "cooking on a prayer." :) Basically, while I'm cooking I have a basic recipe. As the process goes on, I tweak it to my liking--I smell spices to see if I think they would go well in the dish, add cheese (because I. Love. Cheese.)and other things until I have something totally unique and delicious. I'm still waiting for the day one of my experiments goes horribly wrong. By the grace of God, I have managed never to give us food poisoning and always have amazing meals.

Sauteed Portobellos and Spinach
This was oh-so-delicious. I sauteed mine in red wine, as I'm trying to keep animal foods out of my diet.

Cornish Game Hens with Rice Stuffing
LOVE! :) I only wish cornish hens didn't leave such a massacre on my plate, haha! Thank you so much for the delicious recipe--it will definitely be a repeat experience.
