About this Cook
I am a 25 year old wife and mother, living in Kansas. My mother and grandmother always tried to teach me how to cook and ignite a passion for it in me when I was younger, but I'm afraid I was too cool for school at that time. Since the birth of my daughter, and the death of my mother a year later, I have decided to learn as much as I can about cooking, for myself and my family. My mother and grandmother had a very special relationship that I believe was nurtured in the kitchen, I hope to have the same sort with my girl.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I
I read through a lot of the "most helpful positive reviews" and made a few changes based on them and this turned out great. 1. Seasoned meat with salt and pepper. 2. Added a clove of chopped garlic. 3. Added 1/2 cup of water instead of 1/4 cup. 4. Added sauteed mushrooms in the last half hour of cooking. 5. Added a dollop of sour cream along with the cream cheese. Really enjoyed this, can't wait to have the leftovers for lunch today!

Gingerbread Men
LOVE this recipe! I followed the directions exactly and these came out great. My husband isn't a huge fan of the overwhelmingly spicy ginger cookies and these were a little more mild but still had that ginger flavor. The dough came out perfect, I seem to have a lot of problems making cookie dough workable, but not this time! I hand decorated them with homeade Royal icing. Delicious and fun!

Alfredo Sauce
Very easy and delicious! I followed the recipe almost exactly, although I let the garlic simmer in the butter for a bit before adding the cream. I also added a small amount of chicken broth the second time I made it and I do think it made a difference in the flavor. Corn starch if it's too watery!
