Pear Honey Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
Simply easy and excellent! The taste is amazing. Not to bitter or sweet! I added an additional pear to my recipe. Beats the life out of the canned Jelly cranberries.

Irresistible Pecan Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2005
I have tried to make pecan pie for years now and even the easiest of recipes never came out right. I found this recipe and gave it a shot. My goodness was it ever easy and soooo good. Of all the deserts I made last Thanksgiving this was the first to go. Already got request to make 2 pecan pies this year! : 0 )

Maple Roast Turkey and Gravy

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2004
I must start off by saying that I HATE turkey. Simply hate it for one reason...I have never tasted a turkey that wasn't so dry! Until now!!! I changed the recipe a bit to fit my needs. I omitted the lemon zest all together and doubled everything else that I would have plenty for lots of gravy( expecting the turkey to taste dry!) I also added a 1/2 cup of brown sugar to sweeten the mixture. I made the mixture the day before thanksgiving and stuck it in the frig. The morning of, I took it out and allowed it to reach room temp. When it came time to prep the turkey, I added 3/4 cup under the skin. Cooked the turkey 30 min as directed and then brushed on 1 cup of the mixture before lowering the temp and finishing cooking. The roasting pan I have has a cover so I didn't cover with foil. When we removed the turkey it looked like something out of a magazine! I have never seen a more beautiful turkey! Golden brown despite it being covered and not basting. Every bit of the turkey was soooo moist. Not one piece was dry. Everyone loved it and I can honestly say this is the first year ever we actually ate left-overs!

Fourth of July Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2004
This is the first time I've made potatoe salad. I really enjoy this recipe. I changed it some by adding 4 tablespoons of Grey Poupon mustard and few teaspoons of Dill. I omitted adding the cream since I found that with the mayo and sour cream the consistency was what we like ( not thick and not liquid). At first, I didn't like the salad. The vinegar taste in my opinion was to strong. As the salad sat in the fridge the vinegar taste became much more subtle and complimented the salad. Also, you must have alot of time to make this salad. It took me alot longer than what is suggested. There are many steps to this salad..peeling the potatoes, cooking them, marinating the potatoes, cooking the eggs, cutting the onion and mixing all of the creamy mixture. I wish the total time was 50 minutes. It was closer to 2 hours but worth the time in my opinion!

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2004
I have a new favorite cake recipe! I cant believe how delicious and easy this cake is. I have always bought my pound cake at a local bakery for my yearly "flag" cake. I just never thought I could bake a pound cake from scratch that taste nearly as good as the bakery nevermind BETTER. This cake is just so moist! My family devoured my trial cake in record time. Thank you for offering this recipe! I now know that my "flag" cake on the 4th will be a huge hit!

Baked Onion Dip II

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2003
I really loved the taste of this dip but it was way to greasy. I was hoping that using low fat cheese and mayo it would be ok..but it wasnt. I doubt I would make this dip again.

Bobbie's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2003
We all loved the taste of these cookies. Very easy to make. I only added 1 1/2 cups of oats (didnt have enough) instead of the called amount and added 2 teaspoons of cinnamon. I will make these again! Thanks

Double-Decker Fudge

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2003
I was thrilled to find a fudge recipe for peanut butter and chocolate. But I couldnt be more disappointed with the over all taste. Saying its a "very sweet" fudge is an understatement! I served this fudge at a dinner party and most people were not able to even finish their piece because of the sweetness. I doubt I will make this again : 0(

Luscious Lobster Bisque

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2003
I made this bisque for a special treat for my family. Everybody just loved it! Im not sure if I did something wrong but in my opinion it was more like a soup than a bisque. Even after adding the cream it wasnt creamy. Regarless, everyone had seconds and I will be making this dish again!
