Beef Barley Vegetable Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2013
I took advice from other reviews and my own personal preferences and did the following: used 2# beef stew meat & cut it up into smaller pieces, used beef broth instead of water & bouillon, omitted the frozen vegetables, used diced tomatoes instead of stewed, added worcestershire sauce and a couple cloves of garlic - threw everything in the crockpot and let it cook for 9 hours. I put the barley in about 1hr and 20mins before I served. This was a huge hit!

Zucchini Patties

These are wonderful. The only thing different I did was to squeeze out the liquid of the zucchini

Traditional White Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2013
I didn't have bread flour on hand, only all purpose flour. The bread was quick, easy to make and turned out wonderful.

Mary's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
I've never like meatloaf before until I made this recipe-my whole family loves it. The only change that I made was to add a little bit of chopped green peppers to it & make a little bit extra sauce for the top...it is the most moist meatloaf I have ever had!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2012
The only thing different that I did was make my own graham cracker crust; followed the rest of the recipe exactly and it was wonderful!

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
I have made this dish several times now and my family really loves this dish. I didn't have Chinese five-spice so I substituted with Cayenne Pepper and I double the sauce mixture (with the exception of doubling the cornstarch mixture). I serve with a vegetable stir-fry and white rice.

Baked Potato Skins

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2012
These were awesome-my husband even said that they were the best potato skins he ever had. The only thing I did different was I used Olive Oil instead of Vegetable Oil. I brushed the skin part of the potato first and baked for 7 mins then when I flipped them over I brushed the inside and baked for another 9 mins (until nice and crispy). I also did not grease my cookie sheet and they did not stick.
