I've been cooking since I was 8. My mom got sick and I had to cook for the family. After that, I just wanted to cook all the time. I cooked for my roomates in college, even making money off items I could make in my dorm. After a while, my food begain to earn praise, which drove me even more. I've been working in restaurants since I was 17, and I now do catering and bakery work, and am in the process of opening my own restaurant.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Breads, muffins, and desserts are my favorite. Presentation is a big thing for me, so I strive to make it look even more delicious than it tastes. I love to cook for large groups of people..it's a big ego boost when everyone raves about your food for weeks afterwards.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Those I don't really have...I consider my family to be a tight circle of my friends that I cook for often. I think the best event was a "ghetto" party we had, where we ate all the worst food imaginable, washed down with 40's. Sometimes that's better than a gourmet meal.
