Oregon Salmon Patties

For someone who doesn't really care for fish, I have to admit these were pretty good. I added 3 cloves of garlic also.

The Best Vegetarian Chili in the World

Reviewed: May 1, 2006
Just ok. I like spicy, but I thought this was way too spicy. I only used 1/8 C of chili powder. Next time I will only use 1 small jalapeno. I think I will cut down on the black pepper as well.

Dog Treats II

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2006
My dogs loved these. I omitted the jelly, sugar and corn syrup, added an egg and doubled the amount of flour and oats. My dogs said WOOF!!! Also, I made peanut butter ones with about a tablespoon of peanut butter and a teaspoon of honey, (minus the sugar jelly and corn syrup)

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

I was a little skeptical about the cottage cheese part, but it was delicious! I fed my neighbor also, and he thought it was awesome. I followed the recipe exactly. Go ahead try it, you'll like it.

Black Bean, Barley and Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2005
This was the best tasting chili I ever had. I added a little more barley than the recipe called for. It also freezes really well.

Pepperoncini Beef

This tastes pretty good. Although, something was wrong. My meat did not come out very tender. It was impossible to shred. I ended up with chunks instead. Next time maybe I will try a different cut of meat.

If you want a moist turkey, you found it!! I have made this twice in the last several months. I used the leftovers to make turkey tetrazini, also on this website.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2004
These are ok, but not the best. I found the frosting to be way too sweet for my taste. Also, the brownie itself was not chocolatey enough nor was it moist enough.

This was delicious! I froze some of these after I put the batter and coconut on them and used them a few weeks later.

Turkey Tetrazzini I

This is great for left over turkey. The pimento really gives it a good flavor but I think I will use a little more than the recipe called for next time I make this.

This taste pretty good, although I forgot to drain the pineapple :( and the center turned out mushy. PLEASE drain the pineapple. Very good taste overall.

Creamy Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2004
I didn't have any frozen potato's so I used fresh grated potato's and I rinsed them after I grated them. I didn't have as much sour cream as the recipe called for either but it turned out good anyway. Also, next time I will probably cut the amount of cheese in half, it was too cheesy. I used a little bit of monterey jack cheese because I didn't have as much cheddar as the recipe called for. The ham I added gave it a good flavor and I made hash browns with the leftovers the next morning.

Shrimp Tempura

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2004
Very good basic batter for frying. Not just for Shrimp although the shrimp was really good. I also used this batter for onion rings too. I didn't see any need to soak in rice wine and salt. I added a little extra salt to the batter and omitted the sugar.

Hot Bean Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2004
This was pretty good. It seemed a little thick so I added about one-quarter cup of Pace Thick and chunky salsa. Also, since it is a mexican type dip I added cilanto in place of the parsley. The only real complaint I have about this recipe is too much cheese. Next time I will only put about one half of the amount of cheese that the recipe called for.

Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2003
Good stuff. I didn't add any salt because it was salty enough with the ham bone. Also, I didn't have any marjoram and I only added about half the amount of onions that the recipe called for. Still it was really good.
