Dutch Apple Pie with Oatmeal Streusel

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2014
Very good tasty pie!! I did leave in an extra 10 minutes as one reviewer suggested & would NOT do that again. The topping got a little crunchy. Not holding that against the recipe though, that was my own fault. Good easy pie recipe.

Chef John's Lemon Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2014
Had some lemon juice in my frig I had to use up before it expired, so found this recipe. I doubled the recipe & put into a 9x13 pan. I didn't have any lemon zest, so put in two extra tbls of lemon juice. Tasted awesome, but came out of the pan very crumbly & hard to get all of the crust out entirely. If not for that fact, would have given these 5 stars based upon their taste.

Original Ranch Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2014
I had boneless thick pork chops, so that's what I used. Increased cooking time to 30 minutes. Other than that didn't change a thing. Very moist & fantastic flavor. LOVED them.

Slow Cooker Homemade Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2013
I did soak overnight & boil the beans for about 45 minutes before I put into the crockpot. Be sure to cover with enough water the night before, they soak up a LOT of water. Also put into an extra large pot with enough water when boiling. I put in the exact amount of ingredients called for. They were good & made the house smell wonderful.

Bella's Rosemary Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2013
I didn't have fresh rosemary, so did use the dried kind. I also sprinkled with garlic powder in addition to the other items. I baked for 30 minutes covered in foil, uncovered & sprinkled with Parmesan cheese & baked for another 15 minutes. Served with Ribeye steaks & a salad. Really good & easy to make.

Goulash

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2013
Left out the mushrooms as my husband hates them. Otherwise made as written. Made a LOT of goulash so you had better like leftovers. Very good comfort food. I will probably end up freezing some for later.

Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2013
We cooked these on our charcoal grill as directed. Followed recipe exactly, but wrapped ribs completely in a double layer of tinfoil while grilling. Kept it moist. Fantastic taste!

Homemade Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2013
Made exactly as written recipe. I did add the cayenne pepper, about 1/4 tsp. Very tasty. You do have to simmer the entire 40 plus minutes in order for enough water to evaporate, otherwise will be runny. Best homemade sloppy joe recipe I've found so far.

Slow Cooker Barbequed Beef Ribs

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2013
Not the recipes fault by any means, but bought 1/2 beef & ended up with odds & ends not sure what to do with-aka short ribs. Looked up recipes to make them & this looked pretty good. Would have probably cooked longer to get more tender. Way too much bone, fat, gristle, etc on the meat for our taste. A lot of waste on this cut of meat. Next time I'll tell the butcher to keep or throw away. Like I said, not the recipes fault, but absolutely won't touch again with a ten foot pole.

Zucchini Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2013
Yummy!! Baked in an Air Bake Pan, so had to increase baking time by 15 minutes or so. Used another Cream Cheese Frosting recipe that used 8 oz. of cream cheese, just because I knew if I only used 3 oz of pk, the rest would go to waste.

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2013
These never seemed to completely cook all the way through, remained really "doughy" in the middle. Taste very good though. Also seemed to tear apart when we tried to put butter on the top. Not sure if too much banana, since vary in size so much, wished they had said how much actual banana to use, for example, 1 cup. That may fix the problem. May try again & adjust amount of the fruit down to see if that is the case.

BLT Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2013
It didn't say, so I used red onion. Just personal preference. Put in one whole bottle(16 oz) of Original Ranch dressing. I did add celery just because I had some to use up & other reviewers had said they liked it. AWESOME!!!

Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2013
Ended up being way too salty for my taste. I would have rated it a 3 based on that, but my husband really liked it & thought it deserved a 5, so compromised at a 4. Easy to make though.

Egg Salad Sandwiches

Only thing I did differently was adding 1/2 of a small onion finely diced, didn't have any dried minced onion. Loved the dill weed addition. A keeper for sure!!

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2013
We buy our ground beef in 1 1/2# pkgs, so tripled this recipe. Two sloppy joes would NOT have been enough to feed any normal family. It was very good. Served on bakery buns since we hate the prepacked buns you buy off of the shelf. Will make again.

German-Style Pickled Eggs

Reviewed: May 3, 2012
I don't eat pickled eggs, but wanted to make a treat for my husband. He usually eats store boughten pickled eggs, but these turned a funky yellow color as opposed to the ones he usually eats. He also thought they were too sweet tasting. He thanked me for trying, but will stick with the store boughten ones.
