About this Cook
Just simply love to cook! The clean up isn't the tops! I like to try new and different recipes. Baking is probably my favorite. My grandmother taught me to cook and my grandfather encouraged the inventing cook in me. His theory was "you never will know if it's tste good together unless you try it together". Boy, the things he gobbled down for me.
My favorite things to cook
Cakes and cookies! Rice dishes are great! Love tex-mex. And quick and easy that don't compromise the taste.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pizza night! I make pizza dough in the bread machine and we each get on crust to do whatever we want too. I am not a big pizza fan personally but the kids love it. Thanksgiving and Christmas are great too because each family member has to bring a dish and it's nice to see people chatting about the wonderful dish you've made.
My cooking triumphs
Making one half of a link of sausage and mac and cheese and ranch style beans feed 8 people. Don't know how but now those who ate it, it still has no name, make it for themselves. And then there is the upside down walnut pear cake. Was fun to make and those who tried it loved it.
My cooking tragedies
oh wow! Boy! Well I was a cook at a family style rest. and I was making cornbread from scratch for 50-70 people and rather than adding sugar I added salt. They both were in plain white 5 gallon buckets, not labled. We had served half the pan before anyone noticed. The costumers never said anything and there was none left on their plates.

Pumpkin Cake III
This cake was yum-yum! It stayed moist even after freezing! I can't wait to try this with cream cheese frosting. I do think ,next time, I will leave out the walnut. Thanx for the recipe! Can't wait to make this for the holidays!

Doughnut Muffins
These were really good! I liked that they took no time at all to prepare. I didn't think they tasted like doughnuts but they still were very good. I did sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar before I baked them. The kids loved them. Thanx for the recipe!

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole
This was pretty good. However, I wish it had a more "done" flavor. It seemed to set up well and the texture felt done but it kind of had a undercooked cornbread flavor. It may have been the cornbread mix I used. I am going to try this again and see what happens.
