Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2009
This is the only cheesecake recipe I'll ever need. I made it with Spenda and no one could tell the difference- now that's an awesome recipe! Thanks so much!

Potato Leek Soup III

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2009
This is a great base recipe! Trying to make it as healthy as possible, I cut down on my butter (using only 4 tbsp), I used 2% evaporated milk instead of cream, and used half potatoes and half cauliflower. I also added garlic powder, onion powder, rosemary, and thyme. Finally, I blended it together to resemble a more creamy soup. It's an awesome recipe to play around with- will make again!

Authentic Louisiana Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2009
This was my very first time even having red beans and rice, let alone making it, so I have no authority on the claim of "Authentic". But I do know that it tasted great! Had a red pepper on hand so I used that instead of green, and I had to add extra spices, but that's because my boyfriend and I like things spicy. To make it healthier, we didn't use sausage and replaced the white rice with brown. Will definitly make again!

Maple Salmon

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
Well this couldn't convert my boyfriend into a salmon lover, but we both LOVED the glaze. It gave just a hint of maple flavor. We added some extra garlic and also green onion for flavor and cooked in foil packets. Next time I'll have this on salmon and he can have his on chicken!

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2008
I used all whole wheat flour as well, and added garlic powder and shredded cheese. They were quite yummy... if I had brushed butter on them, they would have tasted just like the Red Lobster biscuits! Because of time, I made them as drop biscuits so they didn't look very appealing, but they tasted great with chili!

Crustless Spinach Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2008
As someone who watches her carb intake this recipe is PERFECT. It's very easily adaptable to suit one's taste. Personally, I use six eggs and 2 cups of any kind of shredded cheese and I add some garlic while I cook the onion. It's perfect with some lean protein for a filling dinner!

Peanut Butter Pie I

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2008
Oh man this was good... it should be called "Peanut Butter Cheesecake"- that's what it tasted like to me but I still loved it! I did cheat and use a premade chocolate cookie crust. I used Reduced Fat Peanut Butter, Fat-Free cream cheese, splenda, and 1 tub of French Vanilla Cool Whip instead of heavy cream and it all came out fabulous!

Spicy Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
I give this recipe five stars for the recipe idea, but you do need to change the cooking time, which is why I docked off a star. 1 hour total is too long and will burn your fries. I tried an hour the first time and had to throw away half of them and then tried 40 minutes (20 on each side) the second time and they came out much better! Also added extra seasonings as my boyfriend and I prefer it that way. Very good idea and great with the Turkey Feta Burgers on this site!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2008
This is a fantastic recipe- simple, inexpensive, and healthy! I do a few minor changes: add 1 can of black beans, use all chicken broth instead of water (2 cans total), and place frozen chicken in with all other ingredients in the morning, then take it out, shred, and put back in for an hour when I get home. It's a lot easier and less time-consuming!

Feta Cheese Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
These are awesome! I found it interesting that some people had to add egg or breadcrumbs because my patties held together just fine. The only thing I changed was left out olives (not a fan) and fried them in some olive oil on top of my stove for five minutes on each side. Easy, filling, and healthy!!

A Good Easy Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2007
So simple and inexpensive... perfect for me! I added some olive oil and fresh garlic as suggested by reviewers and it gave it a wonderful flavor! I also took the suggestion to cook it a bit longer on each side, which give it a nice crispy skin. Will make again and again!

Broccoli Chicken Casserole I

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2006
This was wonderful! I boiled the chicken breasts with a garlic clove and also added garlic and onion powder before baking to give it more flavor. I also followed other reviewers and used one can cream of chicken soup and one can broccoli cheese. I just love the dry stuffing mix on top! Thanks for this wonderful recipe!

This was the absolute best black bean soup I've ever had! And it is also one of the easiest soup recipes ever! I added a little bit of onion and garlic powder to give it more flavor and it turned out wonderfully! Thanks for the great recipe!

Bacon Feta Beans

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2006
These were delicious! I went from another rater's suggestion and used olive oil and bacon bits instead of real bacon, and it still turned out yummy! The only problem I found is that when you do this the bacon bits and the feta cheese stuck together, but it was still great!
