Crescent Bacon Cheese Tartlet

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2012
I added 1/2 tsp dijon mustard. I used powdered onion for the chopped onion, and 3 tsp half-n-half for the shipping cream. They were really good. Oh, I also baked them at 350, because I wanted to make sure that they were set before they became too brown.

Apple Crisp with Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
This was good. I used white all purpose flour and a little more brown sugar (1 cup of each, flour, oats, sugar) and one teaspoon cinnamon. Then added a pinch of salt (I checked out the recipe for Maple Apple Crisp by Crystal, and it was very, very similar). I could not get the cold butter to mix in and I was in a bit of a hurry so I put the toppings in the microwave for 30 seconds and then mixed them together. (the toppings were wet and crumbly). We ate it hot with vanilla ice cream. Great way to use up the left over cranberry sauce. My husband really like it too.

BBQ Pork Pizza

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2012
I like it, and all my guest liked it too. I tried it with half of the pizza with pickles and the other half no pickles. Both were good. I also sprinkled on french fried onions the last 5 min of baking to half of the pizza. All very good. Much better than the traditional pizza sauce.

Vegetarian Chickpea Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2014
This was soooo good! I didn't have any lemon juice, or Dijon mustard, so I used 1 tsp brown mustard and 1 tsp lime juice. I added one more tsp water to make it blend better. Use a food processor, and then add the chopped celery. I love this recipe!

Mexican Chicken I

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2014
Don't bake for so long. I baked this for 45 min covered at 375 (as suggested by others) and then uncovered, sprinkled mexican blend cheese on the top and baked for another 10 min uncovered.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
Best Turkey ever. I did not use as much seasoning, but I did do the butter under the skin. Roasting, I had the oven at 450 for the first 10 min. Then I turned it down to 325. The last 45 min I took off the foil. Most perfectly moist turkey ever.

Thai-Style Peanut Sauce with Honey

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2012
Excellent, I followed the advice of other reviews and only used one tablespoon of rice vinegar, and to cut down on the fat I used 2 tablespoons of water and one tablespoon of evoo (becasue I didn't have any sesame oil). Great recipe, thanks for sharing!

Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
Very good. I added 2 cups rice and 4 cups water to fill up the crockpot a little more (I find my crockpot cooks better if it is 1/2-3/4 full)

Ham and Cheese Puffs

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2012
I used 1/4 tsp onion powder because I don't like chopping onions. A Mexican mix cheese (colby, cheddar, and mozzarella). I also added 3 tsp half-n-half, and forgot to add the pepper. These came out very nice.

Mom's Baked Egg Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2012
I didn't use butter or bacon. I sprayed the cups in the muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray and flattened the bread into each cup. I drizzled syrup into each cup with bread. I took the advice of other reviews and mixed the salt with 6 beaten eggs and divided that evenly into the 12 medium sized muffin cups lined with flattened bread. I added about 1-2t teaspoons of milk to each. Then baked them for about 15-18 min or until the egg was firm. They were very good this way too. Much healthier as well.

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
These were great, a little stiff, but I am not sure if we used enough milk (just added with out measuring). Used regular salt and no onion salt, still tasted very nice. We made these early in the morning and put them into a crock pot to warm them and keep them warm.

Pork Chalupas

I didn't use the cans of diced green chili, but I added a tablespoon of onion powder. I took the advice of using less salt, about 1 tablespoon, and it was awesome!

Cornucopia

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
What a great idea. I made my own bread dough using a recipe I found on the web. My only tip is to watch it in the oven so that if it starts to come apart you can rescue it before it is too late. The finished product was a very creative addition to our Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks for the idea and recipe.
