Ham and Pear Panini

I forgot the mustard and pepper, but the added pear was great. Nice twist on a ham an cheese panini. I will try this again and use the mustard next time. Thanks for sharing.

Sunday Afternoon Slow-Cooked Spare Ribs

I used the recipe for just the sauce, nice flavor, a little too much Worcestershire sauce (I would use half that amount) and a little too sweet. The nutmeg was fine. I added 2 Tablespoons of cornstarch to make it thicker. I will make it again.

Potato Latkes I

These were good, I followed the other reviews and used 2 eggs. I also used old bay seasoning instead of salt (came out very much like crab cakes without the crab!). Don't forget to ring out the moisture from the potatoes before adding the other ingredients. I'll make these again. Good reheated too.

Mom's Baked Egg Muffins

I didn't use butter or bacon. I sprayed the cups in the muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray and flattened the bread into each cup. I drizzled syrup into each cup with bread. I took the advice of other reviews and mixed the salt with 6 beaten eggs and divided that evenly into the 12 medium sized muffin cups lined with flattened bread. I added about 1-2t teaspoons of milk to each. Then baked them for about 15-18 min or until the egg was firm. They were very good this way too. Much healthier as well.

Nicole's Avocado Dip

This was ok as written, but I loved the idea (I used fat free cottage cheese and it makes it much healthier than using almost all avacado). I would have given it 5 stars but I had to add garlic (2 cloves) and lime juice (1Tbsp) and cilantro. Other wise, great idea, using fat free cottage cheese to add some protein.

BBQ Pork Pizza

I like it, and all my guest liked it too. I tried it with half of the pizza with pickles and the other half no pickles. Both were good. I also sprinkled on french fried onions the last 5 min of baking to half of the pizza. All very good. Much better than the traditional pizza sauce.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

I change too many things to give this a rating. I cooked 2/3 cup celery and 2/3 c onion in 1Tbsp butter, then aded uncooked diced chicken, added thyme, oregano, basil, rubbed sage, beer can chicken seasoning (you do not need salt if you use this) to the chicken. And boiled 1 large cut up potato in 5 cups broth (5 c water and 5 tsp bullion) added the 2/3 cup flour boiled 2 min. added 1 cup milk, cooked 1 min. removed from heat and added 2 cups frozen peas. poured in a casserole dish, placed one tube of crescent rolls on top (unrolled) and baked for 25 min uncovered and 15 min covered at 350. It was excellent this way.

Apple Crisp with Cranberry Sauce

This was good. I used white all purpose flour and a little more brown sugar (1 cup of each, flour, oats, sugar) and one teaspoon cinnamon. Then added a pinch of salt (I checked out the recipe for Maple Apple Crisp by Crystal, and it was very, very similar). I could not get the cold butter to mix in and I was in a bit of a hurry so I put the toppings in the microwave for 30 seconds and then mixed them together. (the toppings were wet and crumbly). We ate it hot with vanilla ice cream. Great way to use up the left over cranberry sauce. My husband really like it too.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way

Best Turkey ever. I did not use as much seasoning, but I did do the butter under the skin. Roasting, I had the oven at 450 for the first 10 min. Then I turned it down to 325. The last 45 min I took off the foil. Most perfectly moist turkey ever.
