About this Cook
29 yr old married mother of 3 kids, ages 13 yrs (boy), 8 yrs (boy), and 7 yrs (girl. Just battled Hodgkins Lymphoma and won the battle. It was a long hard road but I beat the cancer and am now in remission. My hubby was my rock and took excellent care of me, through chemo I still was able to finish college with a 3.8 GPA and I am now a PCR at Sentara Medical Group ( all while going through chemo)kudos to me..lol :)
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything but baking and cake decorating is one of my favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was little my whole family would get together every Sunday and have Sunday lunch. Both my grandparents were from North & South Carolina so the southern cooking was a staple in my family and still is to this day. I smother everything in vinegar..lol. So, you can only imagine that vinegar based BBQ is the only way to go, all beans, cabbage, and collard greens have to be cooked with either salt pork or ham hock, and everything has to be made from scratch.
My cooking triumphs
I always helped my grandmother prepare for lunches, holidays and everything inbetween, so cooking was in my blood from the time I could handle a knife.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I made watergate salad or like my family likes to call it.. Martian Poo...it came out a lil watery...I now do not have that problem, I didnt drain enough pinnapple juice

My MeMe use to make this for us kids when we were little and it was always a staple at Christmas time...I still make it to this day and my family LOVES it...
