About this Cook
I grew up near Seattle but my folks are from the Dakotas. I grew up with Meat and potatoes but my mom experimented here and there with other ethnic foods. I am a fisherman and a hunter and I have been experimenting with fish and game recipes. I have two small kids and a stay at home wife so my kitchen time is severly limited but its how I relax after all the other work is done.
My favorite things to cook
Man, I like to cook it all. From sauces to steaks. Lately Asian foods. Thai, italian. I like to make sausage but have not perfected the recipe yet. I like to can. Make a mean blackberry jelly and pickles. I have a hundred differnt ways to cook fish.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and my sister make lumpia(kinda a Filipino fried egg roll without the egg) on my birthday every year. For hunting season we make small meat pies we call krout perchindas. Always good warmed by the fire at hunting camp. Good old scalloped potatoes and Ham at Christmas
My cooking triumphs
Anytime people show up and the food does'nt burn or make anyone sick.
My cooking tragedies
No major diasasters. Never caught the house on fire or anything like that yet. I accidently put twice the salt in some summer sausge and took it to a fourth of July party once. That did'nt go over well. My wife will say the kitchen is a tragedy after Im done cooking.

Bella's Brussels Sprouts with Bacon
Had this for Christmas eve dinner last night. Every body seemed to enjoy it, even a few who said they don't like brussel sprouts. I followed the recipe pretty close but was a little short on balsamic viniger and a little heavy on the butter. I would definitly make this again
