Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2013
I have been making this for over 15 years. Instead of water I use a dry red wine and pepper to taste. I also agree that it is very important to sear the meat before putting it in the crockpot.

Orzo with Parmesan and Basil

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2013
Love this recipe as it goes good with anything. The only changes that I have made over time is that I use 1/3 cup of parmesan( part grated and part shredded) and 1 tsp of dried basil because that is what I usually have on hand. As others have noted, I do need to add chicken broth at the end to thin it out a bit because it does tend to thicken up a bit. This is definitely a family favorite.

Shrimp Scampi Bake

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2013
This recipe is over the moon great. I have made some modifications due to our family tastes. I add 1/2 cup of white wine, usually Pinot Grigio. I only use a 1/2 cup of butter because I usually only use a pound of shrimp. I also add a little pepper and Italian seasoning. I do let the shrimp sit in the mixture for a little bit before I put in the oven. 5-7 minutes is plenty of cooking time for medium shrimp. Watch it carefully so you do not over cook.I cook one pound of linguine and put the sauce on the noodles and serve the shrimp on top. I do add a bit of EVOO on top of the noodles with parmesan cheese before I add the sauce from the shrimp. This is a great meal that is quick and easy to make. Even my picky eaters gobble this meal down.

Smoky Grilled Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2013
Excellent recipe that needs very little tweaking. I did cut down on the salt (personal preference) and I also dipped the pork in the wet ingredients first per others suggestions. I may cut down the pepper a bit as my husband thought it was a tad spicy. I did use boneless on the this side pork chops and adjusted cooking times accordingly.

The World's Greatest Crab Recipe

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2010
This is an awesome recipe. The only change needed is too not have the grill so high. I chose to have these for my birthday dinner instead of going out. These taste better than I would get at a restaurant. A small tip would be to put the crab in a covered pan with aluminum foil in the oven on warm. Take what you need and get a warm one when you are done.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2010
This was excellent!! I followed the recipe to a "T". I would take others suggestions and back off the salt, it was slightly salty. My roast was just under 2 lbs. I cooked for 45 minutes and covered with foil for fifteen after I removed it from the oven. This is a keeper!

Ed Zieba's Famous Family Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2009
I was very skeptical of this recipe, but it is wonderful. Follow the recipe and you can't go wrong! Season throughly, I think that is the trick.

Banana Chip Muffins II

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2006
These were really good. They were easy to make and my kids loved them. The only thing I would change is to omit or maybe 1/2 the amount of the chocolate chips (my kids even agreed). They were almost too sweet. Overall a great recipe.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2006
My kids love this pita bread. I have made a few changes. I changed the serving size to 12, use 1/2 cup wheat flour and olive oil instead of vegetable. My kids use these for sandwiches for school.

Egg Casserole

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
Of course the kids loved this. I thought it was ok and had too much cheese. I probably only used about 10 oz. to begin with. It does need a little more flavor. I would maybe add a couple dashes of tabasco next time to spice it up. I also did add a little milk and my sausage was precooked. I did mix everything together before adding to the casserole dish as suggested by others

Best Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: May 14, 2004
My kids love this dish. I think it is ok. I like that it is easy to make. I have made some changes. I omit the onion. I put all of the cheese in the mixture. I use broccoli instead of peas. I add a dash of cayanne, pepper and garlic powder. I also add a cup of milk.

Jay's Signature Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2004
My family loved this recipe. I did use my bread machine. I cooked one in an iron skillet and the other on a pizza stone. We liked the one in the iron skillet better. I brushed the crust with garlic butter. I will probably use a little more next time.I added a 1/2 tap of garlic powder. It could use a little more flavor, but otherwise it was a hit. This is definitely a keeper.

Delicious Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2003
Very bland. I followed cooking time and it was a bit on the dry side. It was edible, but not something I would make again. ***I did not use the full amount of Worsteschire so that may have been my problem
