Garlic and Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2013
I liked this recipe and so did the hubby but we both agree it is a 4, not sure why. I was so happy to try this recipe because I don't eat seafood and everyone always stuffs mushrooms with crab or some other seafood. I will repeat this again not sure what if any thing I will tweak, I liked the cream cheese and He liked the meat so if I leave it as is we will both be pleased.

Sauteed Carrots and Leeks

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2013
I made this with all intention of taking a picture of it. I was to busy before dinner to get a picture and it went to the table before I could reserve some for later. You can't tell your guest please don't eat that I haven't taken a picture yet. This was easy to make and delicious I had 4 vegetable side dishes on the table and this was voted hands down the favorite, they were scraping the bowl looking for more. Looked very pretty on my "Pretend Easter" dinner table as well as being tasty. Thank you for the recipe!

Pot Roast with Vegetables

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2013
I used sweet red wine in place of the vinegar, and cooked the in a crock pot for 8 hours, I put the veggies in at the 4 hour point. I followed the recipe except for the changes mentioned. When I tasted the broth on the stove top before putting it in the crock pot I knew I had hit a home run with this recipe. It is a good thing that I took the picture before dinner because there was no left over meat and veggies. I will be freezing the left over broth and using it for french onion soup. Thank you for the recipe.

Thank you so much for posting, The stars always say to drink a hot cup of water in the morning for clearer smoother wrinkle free skin and a trim figure. I could never figure out the recipe but now I have it. Jeesh I hope it is not to late for me at 54. Thanks Seth K.

Bowties with Italian Sausage in a Cream Basil Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2013
I didn't have bow ties so I used rigatoni thinking the sauce would fill the tubes of the pasta making each bite an explosion of flavor. I was so so so right. Dinner was 5 star and lunch for every one was a 5 star heaven. I will make this again.

Honey Glazed Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2013
Tasty, tender, and gone off every ones dinner plate. This is a keeper for me. Easy to make and so full of flavor. I have made this many times since I wrote this review and find that fresh Brussels sprout and a low sodium chicken or vegetable broth works just as well.06/05/14

Mafioso Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2013
delicious! Cooking time was longer then stated. I used 1 3/4 AP flour and the cake was moist like a pudding cake. Not dense or heavy at all. I followed the recipe as written except the flour and there was lots of flavor. Rich and chocolaty. The frosting is the finishing touch to this cake. My Husband says the strawberries I used to decorate the cake with just put it over the top.

Manda's Taco Casserole

I used Johnsonville ground Italian sausage what a nice change of pace. Mom can't take spices so I used beans with bell pepper even still the flavor was awesome and something I want to do again.

Kent's Pork Chop Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2013
This worked well, I should have started dinner sooner but that was my fault for not looking at the cooking time when I read the recipe earlier in the day. The rice came out perfectly done the meat tender and juicy and the flavor was banging. Good enough that I was forgiven for missing the 6 Oclock dinner bell :)

This is a nice salad, bacon is always good in my mind. I used real bacon instead of bits. Next time I will use a homemade poppy seed dressing that will go very well with this salad.

Orange Fluff Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2013
I would love to give this recipe a 5 star. It is a good cake and if you are thinking of making it you should. Just make sure that after 30 minutes baking time you check the cake, mine was done and well on its way to over done after 40 minutes. The glaze is delicious but you need more liquid then 2 TBS to be able to drizzle over the cake. With 2 TBS you get paste. I will make this again with changes I stated as well as finding out why it didn't raise a little more. The texture was angel food like but it didn't raise as much as I thought it should.

Rio Grande Especial

Reviewed: Feb. 19, 2013
This turned out real well, I used left over chuck roast instead of ground beef, but as a friend says beef is beef. I don't use instant rice so I used Jasmine rice and instead of cooking it in the skillet I prepared as directed on the package and added to the skillet after I cooked it. I only used 1/2 cup of water and 4 oz of tomato paste.Once I added the cooked rice this dish tightened right up and was a perfect texture. The meat was melt in your mouth tender and the flavor was full and savory. No real heat in the spice so even people that can't or don't tolerate hot and spicy can enjoy this dish.
