I am going the the FLA round up in Sept. The hubster has the days off from work and we are making our plans.   My uncle live in GA and we will be stopping there for Mom to see her brother and spend a day. We are driving meaning 16 hours give or take each way. So We may only get 3 or 4 days at… MORE

I love making fried foods,it is not so healthy for you but the flavor and juciness of fried food can't be beat.

Hands down has to be the Thanksgiving meal.The whole thing from the turkey to the pumpkin pie.
My cooking triumphs
Gravy! I am now the Queen of gravy but that wasn't always so.Lumpy was the least of my problems.For years I would buy the gravy in a jar,not any more I got determined and I mastered the art of gravy.
My cooking tragedies
Well I had many many gravy tragedies but I have had more baking bloopers then gravy.I can't seem to manage a cake from scratch,you can either use it as a clay brick or as saw dust on the floor,so I leave cake baking to others.

Wilted Lettuce Salad
To avoid getting burnt add the onion into the hot grease first and let them cook until tender. I use sweet onion not green onion. Next carefully add the sugar and stir into a smooth bubbly mixture then very slowly add your liquid.

Ground Beef Mexican Style
I loved the idea of this recipe. I added cumin powder, chili powder, ancho chili powder, salt and pepper to the meat. I followed the recipe after that except I didn't add the pasta to the mixture. I plated the the pasta first and then added the meat mixture. I topped this with diced tomato, diced avocado, and salsa verade sauce. It was ready in less then an hour and my entire family enjoyed dinner.

Homemade Enchilada Sauce
I tried this one night with dinner. The next day I cooked down a bushel of tomatoes and made enough to freeze 4 quarts for future use. I substituted corn starch for the flour so my daughter in law can have it to.
