Madeline eats chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, and pea's and that is it. At least at my house that is what she calls real food and then there are her snacks, some healthy some not. Well tonight I made a chicken breast pounded flat and then rolled with stuffing and cheese baked with cheese on top. I was so busy concentrating on my chicken roll and our visiting neighbor that I did not notice I had over cooked the nuggets to the point of brick hard. Well I had made curly fries and corn for my sides and Madeline loves curly fries so I unabashedly bribed her. If she would eat just 2 bites of my chicken and 3 bites of corn she could have the fries. Well she ate the 3 bites of corn and 6 pieces of the chicken before she asked for a single fry. A red letter day in my house.
The Queen likes the condo and somewhere early this AM she and her swarm left the tree and set up house in the condo making  condo # 5 for Bill and Tom. Even still I have no honey.
I like to take walks and absorb all the nature around me so are you at all surprised that I take Madeline on these walks and point out all the miracles and sights I see? Today we looked at birds nest and picked flowers to fill a vase without ever leaving my yard.
Call me simple but I just experienced the perfect day!

Your photos show why NJ is called the garden state. I envy your time with Madeline. My GDs are in CA. You are potentially sitting on a gold mine with your hives. Have you seen the price of real, natural honey?

You are a great grandma.Love the photos.

BSM, yes this state has been aptly named. I took a ride south as far as you can with out driving into the Ocean and all I heard going and coming home was Ohhhh look the trees, pink, whie, and red right now, or Mom would be going all crazy for all the spring plants that are in Bloom. I am glad she enjoyed. They don't sell the honey it is gifted to people so that they don't have to worry about all the red tape of selling a food product. I think I would go crazy if Madeline lived any farther away then she does. She is in a different state from me but still close enough for weekly visits.

About Me
I am married I work part time in a flower shop. have 1 grandchild and 1 son.I like to cook, sew, make soap and I love the ocean.
My favorite things to cook
I love making fried foods,it is not so healthy for you but the flavor and juciness of fried food can't be beat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hands down has to be the Thanksgiving meal. The whole thing from the turkey to the pumpkin pie.
My cooking triumphs
Gravy! I am now the Queen of gravy but that wasn't always so.Lumpy was the least of my problems. For years I would buy the gravy in a jar,not any more I got determined and I mastered the art of gravy.
My cooking tragedies
Well I had many many gravy tragedies but I have had more baking bloopers then gravy.I can't seem to manage a cake from scratch, you can either use it as a clay brick or as saw dust on the floor,so I leave cake baking to others.
