 My computer is back home where it belongs and the memory was not lost so all my pictures and such are still there. Happy happy me. I spent the entire morning working on getting the annoying pop up ads off of Allrecipe site once again. Thank you adblock on chrome because nothing else worked. I cleared, recovered, and blocked with no success and then friends told me to get adblock I did and I am back on track.

My camera has new batteries and there are a few dozen faceless recipes that are waiting ever so patiently in my recipe box for me make. Well I think the camera will continue to have new batteries, and the recipes will wait a little longer because I want to go out to dinner tonight. I don't normally want to go out to eat but I need some alone time with Bill. My mom doesn't get the concept of alone time and feels that she must be where we are at all times. I need some alone time to just be with Bill I miss being alone with him. Yes I know in the middle of some restaurant is not exactly alone, for us however it will be more alone then we have been since this past October.Why is it that your worst and nastiest habits and personality traits are what stays when dementia wipes out you mind and memory?

 This past week has been busy and full of food, no faceless recipes but some very good food just the same. We had a tasty menu this week ranging from homemade chicken soup that took Bill 2 days to make, to chicken rolled with spinach bacon, and cheese.

  The Chicken soup is what Bill calls clean out the vegetable drawer soup. He put everything from that drawer and the bones from chicken breast as well as 1 breast. He brought all this to a boil and then simmered it on low and covered all day. Green onions, Mushrooms, celery leaf and all,and bean sprouts are just a few of the things that went in to that pot. Since it is cold outside and staying that way for a bit he put the soup out side for the night. In the morning he strained the broth into a bowl and removed the meat from the vegetables and threw the vegetables away. He then put the broth back in the pot and added carrots, celery,  fresh ginger and mushrooms, he brought all of this to a boil and then simmered it all day. I don't know what spices he used and the ginger was a real nice touch it made the flavor almost exotic. So far we have had soup over noodles with hot dogs coney style, Soup with dumplings and today mom is getting grilled cheese and soup for her lunch. What is left will get frozen for future use.

 The chicken roll is my creation and once again the piece I reserved for a picture so I can post a recipe was eaten before I could even turn the camera on. When I said you just ate my picture again, he laughed and said "oh well guess you will have to make it again". As you have just read I want to make this into a recipe so I won't give the particulars I will  just say how can you go wrong with spinach,bacon,cheese, and chicken. I have made this dish twice and both times I couldn't get to my camera fast enough I would say that is one great review.

 In between the soup and chicken I made our favorite extra large meatballs and my best homemade sauce. The meat balls are moist and full of flavor and not really a recipe just something I throw together. I use 3 meats beef, veal, and pork, eggs milk, spices and bread crumbs and then bake them. The sauce is tomatoes, sweet red wine, fresh garlic and onion, and bell pepper, mushrooms all simmered together with Italian spices and herbs until the flavors blend into a sweet tomato heaven of flavor. Somewhere in there I managed to fit in some pork chops with rice and green beans.

 I was just back reading to see what I had written. I have to say if I didn't already live her I would want to live here. These people eat very well. ( is that to much ego)

So glad to hear your computer was salvageable and your camera is back up and running. Since first reading Baking Nana's faceless frenzy post I have been a bit obsessed with not only finding my own recipes to photograph, but in reading other's. So bring it on my lady, I can't wait!!!!!! :D

I know you are thrilled to have your computer back. I'd be in withdrawals without mine. Hope you can consistently get some alone time with your Bill. So necessary when you are a caretaker of another.

AX93 I can't wait either. I will be bringing very soon. Paula we got Madeline instead so no restaurant we did pizza and cheese steaks instead. some time soon we will get out together ....I hope.

Gravy! I am now the Queen of gravy but that wasn't always so.Lumpy was the least of my problems.For years I would buy the gravy in a jar,not any more I got determined and I mastered the art of gravy.
My cooking tragedies
Well I had many many gravy tragedies but I have had more baking bloopers then gravy.I can't seem to manage a cake from scratch,you can either use it as a clay brick or as saw dust on the floor,so I leave cake baking to others.
