At Last we have a date that is not going to change for the round up in the east. Plans for activities are starting to take shape and reasonable housing has been located. So read on and see what fun and enjoyment is in store for us the last weekend in May In Atlantic City New Jersey, or as the locals say down the shore.
First the dates, Friday May 31 2013 to June 2 2013. You can come for as many of the days and nights as you like. It is up to you and what you can do.
Friday will be check in day so a meet and greet will take place later in the evening in one of the many restaurant in Atlantic city. Since I hope we will all be staying in the same hotel  car pooling is not a bad idea to save on parking and gas. I am on the hunt for a restaurant that is both reasonable and  worthy of foodies like us.
Saturday is shaping up as well. We have choices for the day or early afternoon. FebruaryRN came up with 2 good ideas 1 being a cute little village called Smithville filled with quaint little shops and restaurants, or Cape May a sweet little beach town with shops and restaurants and the Atlantic Ocean. Saturday Night will be our main event  and I think it is going to be a real humdinger.I hope you think the same as well.
After a lot of thinking and let me tell you my house was smokey from all the thinking I was doing, I figured out how to throw a party with out renting a hall or meeting room or breaking the bank. Are you ready for this? Drum Roll Please!
It is a CROCK POT COOK OFF POT LUCK DINNER PARTY! The idea being you make your dish before you come and heat it up in crock pots Saturday night, or put it together on the day and let it cook all day. Don't let the title limit you if you have a cold recipe you would like to share you can do that . It is really about getting to enjoy each others company and our cooking is an extra bonus. We will be having this gathering in the hotels breakfast area and indoor pool area so bring your swim wear.
Sunday morning brunch and a walk along the board walk before we say good bye.
Spouses and family are welcome. You must be 21 or over to be on the casinos gambling floors but children are welcome in the restaurants and shopping areas.

This is the link to the hotel I found that fits all our needs. Reasonable rates,Fridge and micro waves in the rooms, gathering room, clean and modern,A cold breakfast with waffles, and a friendly flexible staff. Myra Corrigan the hotels manager has promised us the rate of 99.00 friday and 129.00 Saturday you have to mention your with the Allrecipe Round up and remind her of the rates she quoted me. If you think you are going it would be good for you to reserve your room now. You can cancel you reservations no charge up to 21 days prior to the date.As the date gets closer and the hotel fills up the rates will go up, reserving now locks you into the rates quoted. That quote is for a king size room. There are other options and I will post the link to all the rooms and rates so you can see for yourself what there is to offer. If I get enough responses to this letting me know you are interested and pretty sure you will be coming I can block some rooms for us helping to lock in the price.

Doesn't it figure! Next year for sure! My little ones will be a smidge older (3 under 4) and it will make it a little more accessible for me! Have so much fun! Cannot wait to hear all the details!

You can count me in. I hope that Janet Daly or Donna Turner can come too and will travel with me! If not, I'll drag Grumpy by his toes. :)

I am thinking that Saturday would be a good day for my day trip. I think it will take me 3 hours each way, but I Sundays are busy for me, and Fridays I have work. I hope a lot of people show up, because I would love to meet everyone!

I am getting so excited. Because more then a few of you that have responded that a day trip will be way for them to make it I will rethink the Saturday night bash and make it something easier then a pot luck dinner. Sarah I will indeed list to the best of my ability the attractions and activities in AC.

About Me
I am married I work part time in a flower shop. have 1 grandchild and 1 son.I like to cook, sew, make soap and I love the ocean.
My favorite things to cook
I love making fried foods,it is not so healthy for you but the flavor and juciness of fried food can't be beat.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Hands down has to be the Thanksgiving meal. The whole thing from the turkey to the pumpkin pie.
My cooking triumphs
Gravy! I am now the Queen of gravy but that wasn't always so.Lumpy was the least of my problems. For years I would buy the gravy in a jar,not any more I got determined and I mastered the art of gravy.
My cooking tragedies
Well I had many many gravy tragedies but I have had more baking bloopers then gravy.I can't seem to manage a cake from scratch, you can either use it as a clay brick or as saw dust on the floor,so I leave cake baking to others.
