Traditional Jewish holiday foods. When I prepared far in advance due to a planned vacation trip one of my kids complained "it was the wrong smell at the wrong time!" We tell the season by the menu! Preparing holiday and family occasion large meals. It seems we celebrate everything with family meals. I think it a triumph when my grandchildren call me for a recipe they particularly enjoyed! It sometimes amazes me what they want. Gratefully not too many, but we still talk about the jello mold that didn't jell from Thanksgiving till Passover! Of course by then it went well and truly moldy and after it was photographed (!) it went OUT! I was still a young housewife and I was mortified, and thought my company would never come back. While the story entered our family lore they never thought twice about it, probably never noticed it was missing from the meal!
